I texted with him a couple of weeks ago and he was in a lot of pain and the morphine he was taking was messing him up more than a bit. I told him to forget about us until he was more with it. I don't think it's too long before his next surgery now, a month or so, I believe.
Sounds a bit tough if you are looking in dude hang in there and at least you have a top blade to get fit for.(And us)
Fingers crossed, 12 months from now he'll be fit as a fiddle, an inch taller & out riding. Silver lining, atleast he's not missing any decent weather.
I was discussing his with Ken a few weeks ago and we had both texted Dan and as ken said in lots of pain. Fingers crossed u get well soon buddie
Sure Johnny, Dan makes no big thing about it. He suffers from severe Scoliosis and his spine is a scary "S" shape at the moment. It cripples him with pain and he manages 3 or 4 hours sleep a night. He's in the middle of a pair of operations to plate and straighten his spine. As he has grown up with the condition, his skull and surrounding tissue has adapted to the deformity so the actual procedure would push his head down and forward, so the first op was to remove sections of bone to allow his head to stay upright once his spine's been straightened and, in effect, grown in length. The painkillers he routinely takes would concern a horse doctor, to be honest. I'm amazed how he manages to work full time and bring up Leigh on his own. Hero, I suspect.
I was wondering about poor old Danno the other day, not like him at all to drop of the radar for this long. Things must be rough in the valleys. Perhaps if anyone has his mobile number they can send him a text and let him know we are getting a bit worried about him.
