It does look a tad cosy, but I have had no experience with one. It is worth checking your bike width, as I know it isn't going to be 109cm wide, but how easy it is going to be to get the bike in and out, if you don't have much room to manouvere with the bike, if you know what I mean? Also, I would imagine that the bike would have to live on a paddock stand in there, so is there enough room once the bike is leant over?
Small? Looks more than big enough to house a Blade. I store mine in a space narrower than 109cm, if that helps. Looks like it's seen a bit of weather but price isn't bad compared to the more modern offerings from trimetal, secure-a-bike, asgard, etc., which are £1K+.
I was looking at a thread yesterday called something like - where your bike lives, there's loads of pics of some very big and very tidy garages and there is one of those sheds. He's posted a pic with he's bike in there and loads of other stuff like paddock stands etc. I was shocked how much was squeezed in there!
I think Nutty Tart stored her bike in something like this, i recall seeing some pictures in a thread somewhere......i will have a search for them
hopefully all the links will work Picture 53 of 64 from Nutty Tart's toy Picture 54 of 64 from Nutty Tart's toy Picture 55 of 64 from Nutty Tart's toy Picture 56 of 64 from Nutty Tart's toy Picture 57 of 64 from Nutty Tart's toy
Have you considered something like yardmaster.. bigger and not a lot more money and they deliver. You'd have to put down a floor though but you could concrete in an anchor chain or something..
Wow this looks cool (nutty tarts Pics) is she still on the forum?.. but maybe little wider then one i pasted the link to? i was thinking maybe the base slides out, but just spoke to the guy it does not..i think i would be pushing it for the space to reverse the bike in and get off the bike.. i was maybe thinking this also motor bike shed double doors 8ft x 4ft | eBay i do live in a cold-a-sack - end of it and no one ever comes here..so security is not a huge concern and the bike is alway blocked in by the cars anyhow..its just the weather that i need to cover up my bike.. the option i have is to put a plastic roof over the alley nex tot my house..though it can only rest on the neighbours garages and i am not sure if the gutter will keep the water out..
Love the Q&A at the bottom... Q: Can you post it for me? has it seen much action? 09-Jul-12 A: Are you mad. Read the description. I need a carers allowance dealing with numptys on eBay. As for action. Erm yes I suppose it has. The door has been up and down a few times . Hope this helps and up the meds I think. Thanks. LOL!!!
this looks good...Trimetals MCG940 Motorcycle MetalGarage 8'8x4'6, Garages FREE Delivery little over my budget though... you think this will be big enough http://www.screwfix.com/p/yardmaster-shiplap-double-sliding-door-apex-shed-7-10-x-6-3-x-6-10/99700#
Quite a variety of sheds people use here? I'm guessing by the size your looking for you have very little space? IMO you can't beat bricks and mortar, I don't know how handy you are with the tools, but you can build one for a lot less? Garden sheds are what they are. Would you really store a 12 grand bike in a shed that the wood is so thin, when the sun shines you can see through it? Mine ain't no size at all but it suits my needs. Yeah. The invisible bike again But seriously all this is, was wasted space at the side of the house. Used the house wall and build one inside our fence. It's only 6'8" at the front dropping down to 6'2" at the back. Flat roof a door both ends. Drive in turn round and ready to drive out when washed. cost was £250 ish in materials and my dad out of retirement for a week You never know. Some one here may be local to you and throw some labour your way?
Yep, works great. My mate had one for years... firstly it stored his 600 Bandit, then later his Buell XB12S... plenty of room... he kept his tools in there as well.
Mine lives in exactly the same shed fits in easy works best when kept upright on a ride in wheel chock.
Gary, that's a nice place you have built. I have no space here to build a solid garage and have to make do with what i can do. I measured my alleyway and it is 110cm, and 120cm wide once you get past the drain pipe \ door posts. I can get the bike in there without issues - The metal shed is 110cm wide, and philt636 thanks for the reply, but i think a wheel chock would be perfect - as the bike would sit straight into it. i was trying to look at this pic Picture 53 of 64 from Nutty Tart's toy and the sheds are possibly the same size...i have also measure the bike it is possible... the only issue is i think the seller is upping his own bid using other accounts - he tried to sell once before and there were no bids -
Don't know if anyone could confirm this that had one of these metal box type storage? Just thinking, if you put a bike away warm will it cause condensation inside, potentially a nightmare, being as its metal there would be nowhere for the moisture to absorb. We touched on this on a previous thread "how do you store yours I think?" I suggest if this to be the case get some absorbent mats in there. People use salt too. This can be re dried in an oven. Rice too will help draw the damp. And the good old charcoal. Unlit of course All the above will help the bike stay dry? Any thoughts? Edit. The salt is kept in containers. Away from the bike itself.
They are metal sheds, mine lives in a ship lap one and I think it's 8' x 6'.. yes they do suffer condensation but I think some people have lined them and that seems to work. If your looking at covering in the alley way, it looks pretty sheltered, could you not cement in a couple of pole on the neighbours side and attach a beam across to support a perspex type roof under the gutter?
