Is it an ipad 3 or is it The New iPad? How's the wifi signal as my missus shows a lower signal than my ipad 1.
No mate. Looking at the apple forums it is a known issue but apple are ignoring it. The battery continues to drain when plugged in whilst in use. This is due to the higher power consumption on the new iPad. The solution apparently will be a 20w charger as against the supplied 10w.
Both mate. The new iPad is an iPad 3. Wifi is great. My wife has had the iPad 1,2 and now 3. The 3 is the best in every respect apart from the power issue.
Never had any probs with bat on my New iPad, tbh it's very very good when used just for the web, I have the 32gb 4g iPad with 3 mobile net and do like the idea, I want to sell it but tbh it's the best tablet around, the thing that lets it down big time is Apple! Apple just don't get it IMO they cut them selves off from the rest of the world, ok ok ok so the new HTML will solve this and that but when? The iPad or Apple rather fail on 30-40% of the web and the bummer is it's when you need it, filling out forms and flash etc are a real pain..that's what I hate about it, that and now and then it will restart an app but then according to apple they never crash.. yeah right.....lol
Fully agree Arthur. I am not an apple fan, but this this just does what says on the tin. It's not a laptop replacement by any means and I still have mine for "real work". For surfing etc this is great.
Yeah I love it too mate, near put it on eBay the other day and did the same old look round first for a replacement but it is the best at what it does I just think its tragic that it could be soooo much more! Screen is spot on, CPU seems plenty fast enough touch screen works a1 shame no numerical numbers stay on the qwerty key pad or no option for it, feels very well made and style is ace... maybe a little overpriced but hey... Also I did request support over the YouTube streaming and other bugs and Apple called me in the hour! Nice... could not sort the questions but we had a laugh over the gripes of the software and hardware flaws. Videopind sorts some of the YouTube problems.
How irritating is the non extended keyboard. I got iA writer which has a built in extended keyboard and it's so much more intuitive and has made the use of as a word processor soooo much better. One simple cure that, yet again, Apple can't admit that they were wrong in the first place. Burns my arse that one. I deal primarily with Epson, and they too are bent on world domination but the difference is, when Epson bring a new product to the table any of the gripes from the last moel are gone. They listen to the feedback and act on it. They won't admit they made a mistake, but who cares if the mistake goes away.
? I have a HP printer, wireless, do I just need to download air print for it or does it have to be a specific type of printer ?
There's a list in the iPad user guide, I think, of compatible printers, Jamie. Of course, my wifi Epson isnt on it.
It has to be an AirPrint printer. I believe only hp are comparable, but not positive. If its fairly new it should be. I bought an all in one hp printer around a year ago and it is not compatable .
Just looked neither is my wifi HP !! bugger lol Have to agree the new Ipad is excellent, we love ours (hers) to bits
For those wanting to print, there are around only 6 airplay printers. I also have a HP all in one, but my ipad 1 is jailbroken so i can run a Cydia app that allows me to print from the ipad.
