So how daft does everyone go before the winter layup. Do you take fairings off and scrub every nook and cranny? Do you coat the bike with anything??
I don't go mad with it winter storage really, as I try to get out on dry, salt free days. I make sure I run the bike up every week though. I have started using ACF50 on it and it is briliant stuff, coat linkages, electrics, switches, you name it using it and it seems to keep the old girl gleaming.
Just what I was thinking Jimbo, please dont temp fate anymore...... We will get a summer, please God let us have a summer !
First thing I do is wait until winter. Then provding there is no salt on the roads I ride it. If there is salt I don't. The end !
Don't do a winter lay up. If it's dry I ride it. If it's dry but crusty with salt, I ride it then rinse it. The thing's survived 10 years and 4 owners with no discernible corrosion. If it can survive that it can survive me.
I only have the wife's car and the bike so it gets used all year round. I am however contemplating a VW transporter to turn into a camper which will also be used for track days.
Interesting...are you going to do anything to it to make it handle better on track? also won't the brakes overheat?
