    Hi.

Just wanted to share my experience of taking my abs blade on its first track outing yesturday; it was a road bike only trackday at Oulton; mainly novice riders.

Loved the bike; handled well on standard suspension & road tyres. You can really use that mid range punch & can feel the front getting very light.

I had a concerning issue with the c-abs & need to work out if its faulty.

I tend to feather the front brake a little; probably not the best technique but a hard habbit to break.

Quite regularly, after feathering the lever (pull in a little, realease a little, then brake properly (not trail braking), I had total pressure loss at the lever. If I let the lever return to full out, it was back to normal pressure.

Gave me the willies a bit for sure.

Got to say the braking itself is excellent; the bike is very settled & stops as well as any modified track setup I have tried before!

My bike is now out of warranty & I do all repairs/servicing myself so I won't be sending it to a dealer.

Firsty, I would like to know if my experience has been noted before & if its just a "feature" of the system or a fault was the cause.

I'm thinking along the lines of removing the c-abs system & reverting to a conventional setup if the abs system is faulty.

I'm guessing the calipers & M/Cs' are the same?

Or, disabling the system; maybe just pull a fuse (it there is one) of fitting an on-off switch??

    Any thoughts?

    Swiss :)

I've heard of that ABS issue before, on the internet and in a magazine.
I don't have a solution, other than buy a bike without ABS ;)

    Hahaa; that will do it.

I didn't give abs a thought when I bought the bike; its was a used model & just happened to have it.

Now I have to make do :(
