Hmm after my off I have been going over the bike with a fine tooth comb, found my exhaust has been pushed up against the lower fairing and melted it Whilst having a butchers I found something odd...the triangle bit that attaches to the rear shock has a crack...and bits sticking out. It is the same on both sides and the cracks look even, so i didnt know if it was meant to be like that, can someone check there blade to see what theres looks like? ta
Sorry mate, that's not good mine looks perfectly formed as one piece of metal..... that looks like its proper Fcuk'd You can see mine enough from this pic I think
yup... mines not like that either. good new is, it seems an easy and cheap fix mate. is your lower fairing just plain plastic?? If so, i have one in a box.
Don't think it could be more naffed! must have topped right out to cause that with stress on the arm and frame, my advise would be to get someone to have a close look at the alignment of the rear wheel, arm, and frame.. I think you will be lucky in that all of the stress would have been dissipated in the linkage and shock, but that is severe. I would not use it until you replace the plates.
hmm thing is I think it was a bit like that before.....I seem to remember something about it... the guy that had it before me did like to wheelie it! Ill get some more plates, fit them then take it to a garage to do a check over. Oh here is the link to my crash, it doesnt look that fast; (stands by for piss taking!) Blade crash - YouTube I'm so fucked off cause when watching the vid, I didnt even try and go around the corner!...wtf was I thinking Si, yeh its just the standard blue HRC one, same as Jamies pic, if you have one for sale, i'd be up for it!
Shit on a stick mate. Good job ya wasnt hustling along there. Target fixation? Oncoming car or that bollard taking your sight off the corner after entering too wide?
No piss take, glad your alright and chose the ditch rather than the car ! good save, hope the bike gets back together soon
Wow, I bet youre glad you've checked it over......not good to be riding round like that. Those linkages regularly pop up on eBay si you'll be ok finding those I think.
Looks like target fixation that mate! you where lucky too, that car was very near dude. It's the standard black bottom fairing mate, not blue.
That was lucky! No piss taking mate shite happens... EBay have loads of rr8+ plates from around 25 quid up.
i have a blue one (its fast like Jamies ) - few little marks on it though but non seen when on the bike, will send some pics to show you condition if your interested?
Glad your ok... bikes as they say can fixed you no the rest and glad your holiday was not ruined... just to say your brake fluid at the front looks a tad low
Might be worth replacing the bearings and bushes too incase they're damaged as well ( its an mot fail if there is excessive play ) while you have got the plates off. parts 3,11,14 in this micro fiche, did mine last year no real biggy just press them out in a vice using two sockets, one to fit inside to push thru and a larger one on the other side to push into. OK, changed the plates this weekend, this is what the old ones looked like.... The bike feels a bit weird now when cornering, I am wondering if it was moving as I cornered before and now it feels slightly higher and more stable I am sure ill get used to it. The last thing is that my lower fairing is touching the yoshi link pipe, I think the pipe was a bit closer to the shock mount, but I cant remember what it was like before, can anyone with a yoshi take a photo of this bit so I can compare please. Thank you
Wow, they were knacked.... Bet the bike feels a lot stiffer now lol funny how your having to get used to the feeling of it fixed !!!!
