Looking to do a Novice Track day - Been itching to get on a track since i got my repsol.... I am in Loughton - so would Brands Hatch be the recommended track? Also anyone looking to join me? As the suns out...
i dont know what Brands is like for first timers but a simple course might suit you better...... Mallory park yes i know its further but far easier for your first time......personally i love the track.
Beware though as I was also itching to do some trackdays on my new 11 plate repsol..... !! MWAHHHHHHHHHH !!!!! Lol
brands indy is good and nice and local, not too many corners to master but padock can be tricky... snetterton isnt that far from you, much bigger track, but decent prices and plenty of nice open corners with load of run off!
thanks guys, and Rob for showing us your nice Repsol! was that recent? were the panels damaged much? Martin - i am sure if you hired a bike and dropped it, you would have £500 odd excess to pay...and you may loose your deposit.. Not sure if that would be a good idea.. How is your road to recovery? fancy a track day?
Will check it out.. Snetterton Circuit - news, event tickets, testing, hospitality & trackdays http://www.clubmsv.co.uk/bike-home/circuits.aspx Novice area: http://www.clubmsv.co.uk/bike-home/novice-riders-area.aspx
I may be able to ride soon but don't know if a track day would be a great idea this year for me. I would rather smash someone else's bike up and pay them 500 towards repair than smash mine up to be honest plus just the repsol panels cost double that for one side then you got frames, engine casings etc, knowing my luck the bike would flip over and do the other side lol
Sept last yr..... right hand side someones spilled fluids on track.....yes right hand panel fucked tank cover fucked rear tail fucked....... me ok ! thank fuck ! lol
Brands Indy is the nuts mate, and not too hard work for your 1st time out. Slow & stead is definitely the order of the day for your 1st run out on track. Why don't you book a Club MSV track day taster session? It's 20 quid for 20 minutes & will really give you a good flavour of what you can expect from a proper track day - Bike Trackday Taster Sessions They're designed for people that haven't done a trackday before, so will be less intimidating for you. It will also let you see if you're going to like it, before spanking bigger money
i remember my first track day, silverstone gp..... 2 yrs ago and was shitting it thinking how nervous i was about to put a 35 yr dream of racing my bike round a track to practise..... it was one of the best days out i ve had...... you ll love it mate and wonder why you did nt do it sooner......
Yep you should take it easy... True bikes can always be replaced..something for me to keep note of i guess - look out for fluids on the track! Yes, looked at the tasters, but i think will be too short - i know i will love it...without a doubt..as i have taken my car around the ring afew time and that was awesome..
do you have to book well in advance? Brands hatch seems to be more expensive...£165! Brands hatch is 38 miles, Snetterton is 90 miles
I am thinking about this one...because you don't have to take your own bike on the track......... Honda Ron Haslam Race School
i think that school comes recommended...but i would want to use my own bike as its something i am use to..but i gues sti would be a good experience \ day out.
