i know this sounds stupid! but as my rear tyre gets hotter it seems to feel a bit slippery i didnt notice it before as ive only got the confidence to lean further since my suspension was set up has anyone else had this with theres? its a pilot power 2ct on an rr5
er, no. lol. Might be.stating the obvious, but is it old? Or, could be that its so new its not been scrubbed in on the 'fun bits'?
what pressure are you running, i ran 2cts on my zx-10 2 years ago and had no real issues, just naff all in terms of feedback from them
I have 2cts on and no issues what so ever i run 42 /36 and as you know it was hot sunny and fast in Wales yesterday.
On my 600r when I ran 2Ct's on the road, I set them to 32F & 34R Cold. On track days, I ran them 30F & 32R Hot. When I started to really push the 2ct's on the track, the would slide when you tried to hold high corner speed or fed in the power whilst on it's side. This was with a bike set up for me with Ohlins rear shock and moded forks. When I reached their limits thats when I changed to sticker Super Corsa Pro's, everything else being right, you may have reached their limits as well They didn't do too bad.
Feedback from tyres. I've always wondered exactly what that meant. Is it where you learn the limit of the tyre? And how exactly do you get there without coming off? Also, how do you learn how much power you can use when exiting a bend with the bike still leaned over?
what i mean by feedback is how much i can feel through the tyres, its simple really when you start to have a little slip and slide you know your close to the limit
it doesnt take much to get the rear moving around on some of the crappy roads around here and if i could afford to race i would but untill that day comes i will stick on the roads
Its not about grip levels that give good or poor feedback. its all about how the tyre is constructed. i.e does it have a hard/soft sidewall ect ect. there is a very good dave moss video on you tube that is very usefull but i cant find it right now
when I had the 2ct's on my RR5 I loved them, it could just be slight movement when new rubber was being used.I went from corsa 3's to the 2ct and thought they gave more feedback especially when the corsa's used to spin up in the wet all the time even when holding steady throttle. lost count how many times I had close calls with them.Have the pilot pures on the RR9 now and love them.
Raph, as suggested could be many things. Road conditions, tyre temp, condition of tyre. I have also used 2CT's and found them to be very good and has no issues into corners.
Did you put these tyres on or a previous owner? I have had a couple of bikes that have felt like this and found out from the tyre shop that if the previous owner had done lots of comuting or up right riding the tyres will sort of square off which created a big drop off to the edge of the tyre giving me the same feeling your describing, 2 new tyres solved this straight away
Might sound daft, but are they on the right way round? Check the arrow on the sidewall, should point in direction of rotation.
