A few bad apples as they say. I generally ride alone, at my pace and my mood. Althought apart from the rain I did enjoy the ride to London and back with Carl and his mate. But then again I was front gunner. Let the nutters go and don't get dragged into doing what you don't feel comfortable with.

The problem is, speed is very much a perception thing, what you might find is your level, someone is comfortable going much quicker and can still do it within their ability and be just as safe as the guy at the back, it might appear they are nuts, but just ride quicker?

That said, seen a few offs in my time by guys of all different speeds and experience, you can tell when someone is going quicker than they should and pushing their luck... That's the only time I'd ever speak to someone about their riding as if they did have a big one, least you've tried to have a word.

The rest of the time, crack on - I'm certainly not in a position to cast judgement.

One reason why I only go out with 1 or 2 others max, I'm often the one leading and don't try to draw attention to myself. Motorways I like to make progress but don't go to fast. B roads if I know them I enjoy more and will go a bit faster but always tell my mates not to try and keep up just go at their own speed. Same as I do when I'm th slower when riding with another mate

This sort of twat is the main reason I ride early in the mornings (or very late at night) in the summer.

I had 196mph indicated on the Autobann last year on my ring trip.......Worm hole isn't the word :eek:...Needles to say i have never seen that sort of speed again lol

As for road riding.... i think we all have moments when the red mist comes down.... But i always keep to the speed limits in built up areas...

there was a guy who died i think last year up north - was also in the news ..was riding along and there was a brick or something on the road...

Since then i always watch the road and keep to reasonable speeds..as i would not like to hit anything in the road at that speed..

Never look for things in the road, you'll get target fixation. You will develop a sixth sense and your peripheral vision will become more acute as you get used to riding at speed. Just take your time to develop your own pace and style. Brick in the road's nothing we had some psycho in a local village stretched fishing line across a country lane to discourage bikers, jobs worth council f**cked the road up any with sleeping policemen.

and also nails in a carpark bikes used to meet.we caught on after so many of us got
nails in our tyres, I got three in a week :s

I have heard this from someone else..but do agree...and don't stare at the road as that would be bad.

really, never would have imagined that...which part of the country is that in?

thats over here in n.ireland, some farmers think they own the road.
one on friday heard me coming down the local back road and I was
sitting around 60 but he heard me coming from a distance.when I rounded
the corner he was standing in the middle of the road and tried to flag me
down, I stopped and said whats the problem...his response was I was
going to fast,I politely told him where to go.

Should have told him if you were going to fast he'd have had a black rubber mark from his genitals to his flat cap where you'd have run over the twat.
