Have my HRC RR7 been looking at a RR9 Now for parting with £2000 ish Is it worth the trade up How is the Rr9 better Thanks
it would be worth buying the mcguiness rep thats on here for 7k as its a bargain, the big differance will be if you get an abs model or not. go and test ride 1 then you will have your answer if you think its worth it or not
Went from an RR4 to an RR8 really noticeable difference - weight, dimensions, brakes, acceleration, exhaust note change at 4000 rpm and the slipper clutch. Test it, enjoy it, buy it.
Thay are very different IMO, the later is like a 600 with 1000 power, Honda made the whole package a little sharper and faster, the newer blade is an awsome bike turns much better with much more feel from the front end, you sit down in a new blade rather than up on it if that makes sense... just a shame it does not look as good as an 07
My local dealer has an unwrapped 07 HRC blade on display - owner quite happy and says 'nothing looks better so far' I had a tricked up HRC 07 and really liked it, managed to get hold of an 08 in Black and white for a song and had both for a short while - in the garage the HRC always looked better, but as all others say, the 07 is an 04 bike updated, the 08 bikes way smaller. Oh and the 07 wont use any oil like the 08 / 09's. £2k to change is not bad, but the guiness rep for sale on here and some different fairings is the way ahead if you can do it - either store or sell those - you will pick up some genuine plastics in time off ebay if you want to change the guiness look.
I had an RR5 before the RR9 and thought the RR9 wasnt as great low down. then I stuck a power commander on it and the grin factor started, likes to throw the front wheel into the air in first and second when sending it on a bit, cant wait to gear it down a little too.The only thing I am not getting used to is the slipper clutch but then coming from a duke I am used to using engine brake rather than having to brake into the corners.
Thanks guys gonna get a test ride booked if i could sell mine quick i'd buy either of the two on here
I've had both.. Albeit Race versions. The 07's 'triangle' riding position (foot pegs to seat to bars and back) is much nicer, I also found the 2010 pushed far too much weight over the front and subsequently onto your arms. The main difference, and the reason I never got on with it, is on the 07 your part Of it, on the 2010 your sat on it, you dont really feel part of it.
Put the £2k into your '07. Get the suspension upgraded and fit some nice new caliper and lines (the '08+ mono's are much better than the 06/07 ones) and if there's anything left either Brembo or Accassato m/c's. When I was buying the 2008 model had not long been launched. I rode both bikes and preferred the geometry of the 06/07. Reach to the bars was longer and higher, more leg room and a feel more relaxed on it. If I were 6 inches shorter I'd have bought the '08, but instead bought the older bike and spent the difference put parts onto it.
