As you know guys my seat cowl is sitting in a hedge somewhere so iv been looking at replacements and was just wondering what i would have to do to get this seat unit fitted.Obviously i would not use the undertray and would get it painted. I will never take a pillion so i thought this would be a cheaper and cleaner look

Hopfully 1 of you guys has experience with track fairings and can give me some pointers to fitting if possible at all.

You would have to remove the OE locking mechanism (4 bolts) and the rear pillion pegs

If you wanted to keep your light you would have to faff on cutting it out plus make Bracket for the numberplate.

iv already removed the pegs but if i had not then why would i have to ?

I would not use the undertray just the top unit so no need to mess with anything underneath, just replace my seat fairing with this 1 that has no hole in the top

yeah your right it won't interfere with the pillion pegs. looking at your picture i thought that under tray was longer. tho pic shows it won't be an issue

the tail piece you have pictured will bolt onto either the holes left by the locking mechanism or maybe the ones from the standard seat unit so it doesn't have locking tabs like the OE one.

your taking a gamble as to whether it fits the standard under tray which TBH i doubt it would.

as it doesn't have the locking tabs to fasten it to the under tray there might be panel gaps.

i think if you were going to do it you would have to fit both parts to be sure they 2 parts line up and cut the light out and somehow make a numberplate hanger.

plus the expense and hassle of painting it and maybe scratching the painted under tray panel etc etc.

could be a can of worms.

what parts are you missing? just the single seat cowl or the full seat unit?

just bike the bullet mate. the genuine ones are stupid expensive but at least you know it fits properly, comes with all the fitting kit and will be worth £100 when you come to sell it on later.

bournmouth honda have 15% discount on at the minute so thats not a bad saving

If i can get my hands on a service battery mate its yours , Doesn't happen often but sometimes machines come in for repair with a few hundred pound bill and the owners never come back to collect so never know.. It will do absolutely no harm running the macbook on the mains all the time so don't rush into buying 1 if you don't have to

nice one. it will look much better once fitted!

i was bidding on a quick shifter and QEM on ebay and nobody was bidding except me so the seller then cancelled the auction and relished it starting at £150.

im not bidding now out of principle.
