    Hi
I bought a rr5 blade, it's got 1700 miles on her, i have put the power on and i would have thought the front end would lift of it's own back, but it won't, no matter what i do, this is in first gear, i have had a couple of m reg blades before and they lifted, my gsx14 used to lift and thats a 105 bhp, The blade i have bought now is 175bhp i think and it won't, is this the way it is or does any one think there's a problem,;)
    Thanks in advance,
    Marcel

I wouldnt get hung up on bhp figures as I had a gixer 6 and and 848 and they
are both only around 120bhp but spent more time on one wheel than two.
my RR5 was wheelie happy but I geared it down and fitted a power commander
which helped. My RR9 hardly wheelied when I got it, with the power commander
it likes to lift the front now in the first few gears.

Think you'll find that the power is reduced in the first two gears, full power comes in 3rd........

@70mph in 3rd, roll off and back on while dipping the clutch. Front wheel should go skywards.. ;)

In first gear pull the throttle upto about 6k drop throttle then pull on full and it will lift nice and smooth :)

Front wheel should be on the ground at all times (unless you're crashing) so as to keep full control of the vehicle. To have it any other way is illegal and dangerous.

Bollocks.... Wheelying IS big and it IS clever and DOES look cool.

2nd gear 40 mph clutch it up no problems ...... So I have been told ;)

All bikes have a special way to get the front wheel skyward, take your time play around with it, that's the fun part :)

I felt the same for ages Fez, then went to a wheelie school @ bovington and had a day clutching the bike up on a bandit 600, it now feels much more controlled and natural, I am no wheelie god, but practice and time make perfect.

I've never actually wheelied. Well not intentionally anyway.

Anyone wanna give me a quick how-to guide for the utter novice? :D

Yeah, wheelie school first, don't experiment on your own bike first otherwise disaster may strike!

I've never really been that bothered about getting the front up on my bikes to be honest. I used to love it on the motocross bikes but on the road it's never really bothered me. Sure it's came up on the power more than a few times, but I've never intentionally pulled 1. Maybe I'm just weird though

Me either. Both wheels on the floor for me. Safest way to ride! Ive seen a few riders showing off and end up in a hedge. Ive done a wheelie school and it's great fun but a bit scared in the road if I goes wrong I'm 10k out of pocket!

If it's not coming up in first then you're doing it wrong. 2 mates have a 954 and an RR5, I've an RR6 and ridden RR8's and 11's and all come up in first, second and third. I'd never think of clutching a 1000cc bike in first, but 2nd and third is handy.
