Sure you got the right one that name sound suspiciously like you own the Aprilia rsv4r which stunning and gorgeous sounding as it is ........ Is not a blade ? Looking forward to the story behind this one and welcome to the forum Just to note I am genuinely interested and not taking the piss
Hi there Jamie, when i joined the forum back in 09 i had the R1 but have since bought the 2011 rsv4r aprc. The thing is i am going to sell the rsv as i just don't use it with the really bad weather up here in scotland. The rsv4 is just too much money lying about so gonna sell it and probably buy a 06-07 blade as i just couldn't be without a bike. If the weather was better and the bike being used more then i would keep it as it is a truly special bike, everywhere you go you get people admiring it and the sound is totally addictive (mega loud but very sweet sounding). Lol just noticed the answer i gave i joined the other 1000rr forum in 09 when i had the R1.
Honestly mate i am sick beyond belief with the weather up here, it has pretty much rained every day for the last 2 months it's totally shit. At least i had 2 weeks in mexico where i got some sun
I might grow to like you lol. What do you think of the arlen ness boots as i am thinking about getting some. are those the xaus replica ones
The arlen ness boots are ok on the bike but murder off it, i have bought a pair of alpinestars smx plus and they are mega comfy. Dunno if they are Xaus replica's got them mega cheap (work in the trade) so they were worth what i paid for them.
The RSV4 is lovely i have a 2010 factory but its not the APRC , props for the white boots i have a set as well :-}}
Welcome on board Dave! Am tempted by the Aprilia myself, but can't tear myself away from Blades! not that that is a bad thing at all
I do love my rsv4 but just can't get to use it enough, yeah shane the factory is a stunning bike but didn't come in white i have a thing for white.
Have you had any issues with the RSV4R ? I was going to buy one instead of the blade, but the right deal was never reached and the blade was excellent on the road 0% APR and came with £2000 worth of goodies. Thinking about one next year, but keep on hearing about engine failures, gearbox issues etc... have you had any issues ?
Hi there Jamie, i would probably avoid the 09-10 models as the engine was updated for 2011 with better oil flow and a few other changes. I have had no issues with mine and since having the latest map installed the bike has been transformed. It was a bit lumpy and was murder to ride in town but the latest map sorted all that out. I have had no issues with the gear box, i have heard of people saying they can't get into to neutral but this is not something i have encountered and i have ridden a few rsv4's (used to work at a aprilia dealers). One thing i would say is the fuel consumption is terrible, i have had less than 100 miles to the tank when thrashing it.
