Hi i used my bike only a week ago and went to start this morning and the battery was dead.
This is the second honda supplied battery, when bike is idling it has 14v at the battery.
It does have a data tool alarm and a pcv but it should hold charge better than this any ideas.
Can anyone tell me if there is a more powerfull Battery i could fit?

You haven't said what model/year your bike is?
I know there was one or two issues with the ABS with a certain ECU fitted that caused it to drain the battery.
I had the one with the crook ECU, Honda changed it under warranty.

My 2011 repsol drains the battery in a week if I don't put optimate on it! I also have a data tool alarm fitted.
Another reason I'm getting rid of it!
Spoke to dealer and they said they are crap!
I used to be able to leave my bike for months before the battery even start to lose power but not the blade!

It's a 2011 Repsol also. Is the ecu fault on non abs models also?

I normaly put it on an optimiser but didn't bother as it is warm and thought it would be ok.

No mate. The ECU in question only pertains to the ABS models.

Funny this has come up. I also have Data tool on my 954 (2003) and have the same issue. I have changed the battery twice, but now know its the crappy alarm system. Would it help if I disconnected the LED, but wouldn't think that would drain the battery over a week ??

Hate all key fob style alarms, get a tracker like BikeTrac if you need an alarm, or a good Almax chain! Get a multimeter stick it on Amps and hook up inline (seriese) to your battery and see what the alarm draws on standby, I've seen 400mA in the past no way a small bike batt will last over a week with that kind of drain, 50mA would still flatten your battery!

The one reason untold Honda to stick the alarm fitted to my bike before I
Collected it. Four bikes I've owned have had alarms all of them had flat batteries !

My RR5 drains in just over a week without any alarms etc. I think it's just the red led flashing all day on the dash, I just keep mine plugged into the trickle charger that does the job just fine. Only cost £11 posted off eBay

Ditto, i have a 2002 954 but do not have any alarm on it..... the bike has started after months of not being used, also the red flashing led HISS light goes out after a few hours so the guy who posted about his RR5 needs to check that out, i thought it went out after no use ?? I cleaned out the battery box etc and my battery is a decent size, nothing like the fag packet sized ones the modern bikes seem to have. I just don't rate alarms at all, and will never have one fitted to any of my bikes..... secure alarmed garage with an Almax chain and ground anchor... that will do, and out and about... i really don't think a warbling tin pot alarm is going to deter anybody.

Ditch the datatool piece of shit! Mates Z1000 was constantly draining its battery until we removed it and smashed it to bits with a lump hammer!

The hiss led goes out after 24hrs of none activity. Every time the ignition is turned on the hiss led comes on again. But it can be turned off all together, the how to do is somewhere in the bikes operating manual.
