That big yellow beaut of a sun has finally decided to come out from its slumber up here. Time to fire up the blade and tear up the highways. I'm outta here. Wwwooooohhhhooooooo !!
Thanks Jay It been dreadful up here. Got to make the most of it as its to be pissin down tomorrow. I think I'll head up north today
Get to to Fort William Colin. GlenCoe don't forget my Shortbread Oh and pics, or it didn't happen. Have a good ride mate.
I'll prob just head up to Fort William anyway mate. I'll head up the west coast past loch lomond, up to Inveraray, Loch Gilphead, Oban then Fort William. I'll head back down through Glen Coe. It's a must. Not as many corners but the scenery is mint.
That's us up in Fort William. I'll put some pics up once we get back home. Hopefully before the rain starts again.
Love it up there not done it on the bike yet just cars, my dad usually has a couple of rides up there thru the year, 500 mile round trip, the old boy doesn't like stopping. He rides an old 2001 gixer thou, the original 67 years old
Well thats me just in and sat down. I must say that, that was 1 of the best days I've had on the bike, and it was badly needed after the absolute shtie weather we've had up here for the last 2 months. The weather was absolutely spot on, at around 16-17 degrees, not too warm and not to cold either. Plus the added bonus of it being a midweek ride out (megawatt you jammy coont) there was hardly anything slowing us down. Heres the bike ready for its blast. We set off around 11 o'clock A couple of pics from the pier at Inverary A quick stop off on the way to Fort William. I can't think of a better place for a piss stop We reached Fort William around 4 o'clock and decided it was time for a maccy dees. Few pics from the pier. We came home through Glencoe and could'nt resist a couple of shots from the Queens view. I've now just had something to eat, and I'm just about to crack open a nice cold 1. Jeez I love bikes !!!!!
Good on yer Colin. I love that part of the world. Definiatly going to get my arse north of the border again sometime soon.
If you ever get round to heading up this way Gary. Give me a shout and I'll tag along anytime. Really can't beat the west coast road, great corners and the roads are kept immaculate. Glencoe is stunning but the roads are a little too boring and straight.
Loved it Jimbo. It was exactly what the doctor ordered mate. A bit sore now but worth it in every way. 7 hours on the blade and I know it
I certainly will give you a shout mate. Looking at making a weekend of it. Agreed the Glencoe road is a little tiresome but the West coast more than compensates for it.
Brilliant, well pleased for ya, must be hard with the weather - it's just karma levelling things out - you get amazing roads and scenery but little time on the bike, we get shite roads but good weather! Quality v quantity But I can never seem to not be jealous when I know you've been on a 'local' ride out!!
Well i live in Aberdeen, Typical the weathers good and i'm away offshore ... FFS Got an overnight ride out to the west coast (or somewhere) planned for 2-3rd week in August! I'm praying for good weather as i really need the blast at the moment!!
