Well I had an off a few weeks ago now, went from 3rd gear to 1st while doing 60mph and the back wheel locked up on me throwing me down the road in a heep  :(

Damage wasn't too bad due to the crash bung taking most of the hit but I did manage to mash the hell out of my Titanium Akra, rip off my handlebar end, put a hole in my front fairing, rip off my rear brake pedal and my crash bung punctured a hole through the side fairing :(

To put a horrid story to rest, I spoke to the brilliant people at Zero-Limits Carbon Fibre to get some new fairing bits. So tomorrow I am picking up a Front Fairing and Side Fairings then the good lady will be buying the rest of the Carbon body parts at the end of this month for me so all in all a win win situation.

I will put pics up later tomorrow with how it looks, very excited :D :D

I think my ego was more bruised lol, but I had a few cracking ones up my arm and shoulder.

With regards to the slipper clutch, I was under the impression that the 2008 + Fireblades had them fitted as standard?

Dunno about that mate, but if it had one surely the rear hoop shouldn't have locked up and spat you off?

indeed the 2008 does have a slipper clutch as standard, dropping it into first at 60mph is not recommended but for sure it should have been able to deal with it, best get it checked out if you intend on doing it again

Used to be a 929 about 9 weeks ago lol, traded it in for the 2010 Blade.

The Ducati dealership that the 2010 Blade was in offered me £2500 for my 929 and they let my new one go for £6999 with 7K on the clock with the Akra.
