I was just wondering has anyone done the quick action throttle mod on there blade yet. thinking of doing it myself soon and would like to hear anyone else's experiences.
from one write up I seen it basically slots right in with very little modifications to be done. the price is what puts me off the HRC kit seeing the R6 tube costs £20
Yep i have done it , since doing it i have done 20 track days ish and a 3000 mile trip around europe . I got the throttle tube £8 ebay but are hard to find just make sure you get the 2CO tube as there are some special edition old shape r6's . you have to slacken the throttle cables off at the throttle bodies it just makes the swearing less !!!!. Then the hardest part and its not that hard is to dremel away a part of the casting inside the throttle housing took me 15 mins . Just take a bit at a time away its just so new throttle tube moves freely. write up with plenty of pics is on another blade sit. I have done my 2 friends bikes aswell makes a hell of a diffrence
I fitted the tube only to my 2010 model. No modification of any part & the cables look identical; work perfectly. You will still need to remove the airbox & slacken off the throttle cables (all the way out); at both ends. Trust me; I'm a doctor.
You can, yes. The throttle is obviously not connected to the PC, but the PC map can be changed to give a different AFR for a give revs. E.G. if you have a snatchy throttle at low revs, you get the PC to add more fuel to the mix at low revs. Not a very good explanation but you get the idea. It depends what you are after; the PC software calibrates throttle position so you may be able to manipulate that?
I think that's what i meant! where you open the throttle say 25%, but you are actually opening the equivalent of say 80% (if set using the PC)
If you turn the throttle say 25%.............the butterflys in the throttle bodies opens 25% of their travel ( we,re not talking QAT but basic fitment),but........if you dial in a fuel map via a PC111 then the fuel injected for a larger throttle opening can be injected thus giving you better responce but at the 25% opening. Now then................If your bike was "Fly by Wire" then it would certainly be possible to alter the butterfly opening in relation to throttle movement along with fueling. Trust me................It's "Witchcraft" and best kept away from at all costs!!!!
