Just ordered it for tomorrow. The 5 will use a different connector so i would need to change the sat nav on the bike and the docks at work and at home, so i,m going for the 4S.

It feels great in your hand, very grippy and easy to hold. I love mine in it.

FYI two of the guys in the next office have The new Samsung, it feels cheap and plasticy

Yeah although Apple are shipping a connector to allow you to use it with the current connectors, according to reports.

It certainly does feel cheap and plasticky... that has been the main bugbear of all the reviews... but then, 99% of smartphones go straight in to some leather/rubber/silicone protective case anyway.

Where's the "anything but Apple" option? ;-)

In all seriousness, given you already have Apple stuff, you may as well get an iPhone

Foxconn chief Terry Gou is urging customers out to get the very best smartphone to wait for the release of the iPhone 5. The manufacturer of Apple's new iPhone told China Times: "The new model will put Samsung's Galaxy S III to Shame."

During the annual shareholder's meeting of the Hon Hai Precision Industry Co (trading as Foxconn), Gou suggested that with his company's marketing and manufacturing expertise combined with Sharp's key technologies - namely in the display arena - they will be able to completely defeat Samsung in the next three to five years.

And specifically he called for smartphone buyers to hold on at least until later this year, calling on "consumers to wait for the launch of the iPhone 5".

There is no love lost between Hon Hai and Samsung, with Gou previously accusing the Korean company of "snitching on its competitors". In 2010, Samsung is claimed to have given up the names of four Taiwanese manufacturers in a flat panel display price-fixing investigation, itself being made exempt from any further action as a "tainted witness".

Therefore, you can probably take what Gou says with a pinch of salt. However, he also stated during the shareholder's meeting that his company had an exclusivity agreement with Gorilla Glass maker Corning Inc, and that "his competitors will not be able to secure any such material if they wished to". That gives the iPhone 5 (and other products made by Foxconn) at least one advantage over competitors.

That's the way tech goes... S3 is currently the best phone, in 3 months it will no doubt be usurped (probably by iPhone5 from what you've said) ... 3 months later that too will be usurped... and so on. If you sit waiting for the "next big thing" to hit the shelves you would never buy anything, coz there's always a next big thing round the corner.

Yeah you can wait and wait for new tech, and even they it can be delayed... Then there are firmware updates bugs and problems.. I am keen to see what Apple come up with in the iPhone 5 but I still feel Apples stubbornness is what lets it down fine if your into simple one app OS but if you want freedom then I stay away from Apple, as for rooting phones that's all ok if your happy to invalid your warantee on your handset I buy mine sim free then insure the phone for dammaged and loss and run whatever contract I choose... Bring on the iPhone 5 let's see this shocking tech that whoops the new HTC and Samsung! Still no use to me as my CCTV apps PTZ features and sound don't work in Apple OS...very odd.. :(
