I have recently been in negotiation with the german company constands to see if I can get us a discount for a group buy. The same stand in the uk is currently £299 + £14 post by a company called Envy, according to envy their lift is soon to go to £349. With only 5 people interested I have managed to get Constands down to £179.12 per unit which is already a bargain compared to its uk equivilent. I think there is still a bit more cash I can chip of the top of we can can get a few more people interested but could people please show their interest now could the original 5 let me know what they think of the price Cheers guys Martin Please read all comments as there are some negative comments from what people have heard but there is also positive comments from steve of this site who actualy owns one. Constands have also said they have sorted problems they experienced at the start which all companies experience. I mean come on even Honda have to do recalls!
Thats a good price...... but just read up on adapter plates before you buy.... and then read my posts about the......E......N.....V....Y..... as i cant even bring myself to mention the effin word ! lol
Did you get yours in the end rob? They assure me that all teething problems are now fixed and I suppose all company's get them to start with. They also have them ready to dispatch within 24hrs apparently
I have been reading up the various posts ref this lift, does anybody know if there is adaptors to fit a Fireblade 954RR2 ???
I actually bought the Envy unit and if im honest its the biggest piece of shit in the garage...... but Steve Betts sorted me out with different adapterplate and i ll live with it..... The concept is great though.... stick with the german model but read up about slippage of the adapter plate.....Steve improved the bracket and it suited my Envy unit too but overall i would stick with the Abba...thank god i did nt get rid, and yes i did complain but in the end got fed up with moaning about it.....
teething problems ? as in "you ll receive it in a few days"......and 12 weeks later it turns up and still needs improving ?? lol
Thanks for that, I do have the Abba Stand at the moment and its fine, i just want to lift the front off the ground, i wanted a headstock stand (to totally uncompress the suspension) but i think my front brake lines will get in the way, i may just get a Harris front paddock stand and leave it at that. Thanks for the heads up, i do agree though, the idea is excellent its just going to take a lot more R & D to ensure it is the best it can be.
I am very happy with my constants lift now the mods are done. I would recommend it. At the price you have mentioned it would be worth buying the modified adaptor plate I designed too.
Thanks Steve I was starting to be a little put off myself from some of the comments, it's good to hear some feedback from someone with one. They claim to of sorted a few of the issues they first had with these lifts so it may be sorted already. I think I will go for one anyway and if needed I may be in contact for the extra part
I'm not sure if I missed it in the link, what was the outcome with the fix/ replacement part from the company?
I would like to know this as well please. If I purchase one I don't want to be sorting out updated additional parts that may be required. Thanks.
This is getting like Tripadvisor........some good, some bad......some in the middle.... Just avoid the broken promises of Envy..... the german unit looks the better option......then further mods available via Steve ! lol
Lol it is getting that way Steve just out out interest as you have one, how would you say the wheel will cope with a typical domestic garage floor? Mine has sort of ripple in it if that makes sense?
Right got a really quick reply from them I will write bellow the question I asked and copy in the reply i recieved so you can decide if this is for you. Question: Hi Carmen There are a few concerns that have come up from some of the forum members interested in the lifts. At some point a couple of members purchased stands from yourselves and had a few issues with the plates not fitting properly and needing to be adapted or replaced due to poor fitment of pins or sideways movement could you please confirm if these issues are now resolved. My floor is very smooth but I think a slight ripple should be ok. Did you see the video of mine in use? Constands power lift - YouTube
