Does anyone have one? More specifically for the lights as my lights have stopped working in dipped and high beam unless I use the 'pass' button.
Thanks for the wiring diagram, Next Question, can anyone make head or tail of it? I'm reasonably clued up of electrickery but struggling to find a link between the dipped & high beam not woking unless you use the pass switch. My brain is a little fried.
I'm thinking Dimmer switch (most likely) or headlight relay. I'll get the fluke out tomorrow and see whats happening!
It has been ridden in some dreadful weather recently so there is a fair chance or water getting in a switch or relay and fooking it up!
could be, open the control up and look for green corrosion, same for connector blocks...look for green/black mold. I think they are all on the same fuse so other than that trace the wires from the headlights back and look for any damage or wear. usually ends up being somthing really simple.
If its a decent picture i'll have a look mate. Tried before but the e mail I got was blurry as buggery. I can get on my 'puter tomorrow night if ya wanna e mail a piccy? [email protected]
I had the switch open this afternoon but couldn't see and issues. I'll be checking the continuity down the wires tomorrow to try and narrow it down.
Odd problem that, just buzz out the switch and check supply power should be easy to find.....note I say "should"...lol
I think I proved not to be too good with electrics the other day with my dash :-S I will stay out of this one
right looked there, all I can think is check the main harness plug , cant remember but I think its on the left.the wires from the speedo indicators and lights all go into it.it will be covered in factory tape so pull that off and check the wires and connections for signs of burning or wear.there is only a relay in the system and that controls your main beam but you say that works when you flash the lights.it takes a feed from the starter so that when you start the starter gets the power and the lights dim so that wouldnt affect it either I would think.I assume you havent added any new alrams or electric gizmo's that could ground the light system out.
Is it a big flat kind of plug that I would of had to unplug to take nose off? If so its on the right as sat on bike
if taking the clocks off you just undo the plug on the back of it lol but if it was a big ass one with about 22 wires in each side then yeah, the headlight wires are (on the headlight/clock side) main - black/blue orange dip - red/blue black/white but also check the others as it just takes one to short out
I'll dig deeper tomorrow to see what I can find, I've got a Fluke (circuit tester) so I should be able to sort it tomorrow but my bets are on the the switch.
