    Hi all

Got a feeling my 2yr old has binned my only hiss key (last owner had copies done but didn't understand what hiss was!)
Having not seen them all year (bike off road) I've given up looking!
I've read up on using American ecu but was confused as some people said they make less power, also a company called motomatrix advertise a service to swap ecu with blank keys, anyone got any feedback to this company?
Then the ridiculous main dealer option! (£1200 don't think so!)
If anyone has any pointers they would be much appreciated!

What years your bike, i've seen a few full lock sets with the ECU tank lock etc on ebay.
It could work out cheaper to change the whole lot out, they seem to vary a fair bit in price depending on year tho

I have a bust ECU and have had to learn lots about all this in trying to arrange replacement / repair.

MotoMatrix are good - I have spoken at length with them about these , they know their stuff and I trust them - French ECU's are low power (hence they buy loads of UK ones)

US ECU's are not HISS enabled - but... your insurer will think your bike has HISS system - really minor point just in case it got pinched.

If you are not too fussed you will pickup and ECU and key for about £250 from a racer, but prob. not with fuel tank lock and seat lock - estimate £350 - £450 from ebay for them

Or if you just want to get mobile and can live without a rev counter and your bike is an 08 - 11 non abs blade make me offer for my 'fried' one - the only think that does not work is the rev counter -

    Thanks guys

Motomatrix are £260 plus ecu swap so looking best bet, I have copies without chip to do tank etc..
It's a track 07 bike so not worried too much on matching keys and working hiss systems

Why not just get a US ECU then?

I've got an 06 USA spec bike and after doing a bit of research on the net mine should be making full power.

Did look at that as I could get one including delivery for about £100 but was unsure of power, also got to modify my loom or put a us spec loom on

look on here, if you have the key get it copied on to a chipped key
and a member on here can give you all you need to reprogram it,
you dont need a new ecu

When i bought my 954 the previous owner only had one HISS key.... once i got the bike home, the key went into the equivalent of fort knox until the earliest time i could get the bike and key to Honda to have another progammed..... i was paranoid for days i would have to have gone through what you are now if i had lost it, the spare one (HISS enabled|) is now in my loft in a box with all the other spare keys.

Thought it was too good to be true!!
Did have an inkling this would be the case, was hoping there was another option that I'd not come across before shelling out the hard earned!
Probably gonna have to go for the motomatrix option so would appreciate any info about these guys if anyone has used them.
Thanks to everyone who has replied and taken the time to look at this thread :)

I know something tho, after reading the agro and cost involved in keys, Im going to get my spare surgically sewn under my chest skin.
Should be fun at airports too, lol
