Hi you mad bunch. So yes finally got my blade, love it. Its on an 06 and I have been looking at tidying up the rear end and have found these.Yes I think they look the muts but really? Are they any good? With my previous experience of LED's they usually are quite shite in strong sunlight. So anyway if any of you have experience with Motodynamics products I would love to hear from you. Cheers. Keep it real. Here's the link Tail light for Honda CBR600RR CBR1000RR from Motodynamic - YouTube
I asked a local mot fella about these, not sure about the rules there but he said the indicators had to be the width of a numberplate to pass and the fact that some brake lights go out to give way for indicators would also be a fail......said it would be the same with a bad earth on a car causing a brake light to go out with every indicator flash. anyone else have these and pass an mot? wouldnt mind one for my bike.
I have one fitted to my bike and had no problems with the item itself and I get loads of positive comments about it. You will need to change the flasher relay which is a pain as it's located in the very tip of the nose cone between the headlights. The tail unit is a little bit awkward to remove but once off the tail light is easy to change. I ordered it straight from the company in America and it came within 10 days with no customs charges When I put it in for an MOT I just put the standard indicators back on and reconnected them (10 min) and it passed fine. I've been told that the quick 3 flash when you brake really wakes you up if your behind me.
I didn't think there was anything written in the MOT guidelines about them, however European law states motorcycles sold in the UK and Europe need to have rear indicators spaced 240mm apart, it's there the law comes in, remember just coz it passes an MOT does NOT mean its legal for use on the road, strange but true!
Just one more tip with regards to the flasher relay, Anyone fitting these units to the 08- blades use a 4 pin unit (me and colinbr found out the hard way after his bike was in bits!) instead of the older 2 pin style but a lot of resellers still say the 2 pin fits!
I have a smoked version of the Moto Dynamic's rear cluster. Not had an MOT yet, but for the sake of it I think I will disconnect the indicators in the cluster for the MOT. Oh, and on the RR6, the flasher relay should be behind the Upper Left-Hand Fairing
When was your mot last done as you may have an issue next time. Vosa only issued the instruction a few weeks ago, but it all depends on how switched on the tester is
Could you not just disconnect the indicator wires in the light for mot and strap some normal indicators on then just reconnect after to save taking rear end on and off? Don't try this unless someone confirms this as I'm crap with electrics!
I have this on my 06 2006 Honda CBR1000RR CustomLED integrated tail light demo - YouTube CustomLED. Love it.
Yep just gotta wait for them to come back in stock, and glad I cancelled my order for that chepo chinese one!
