Ive just booked on this track day, could only get in the novice group thou which might be fun !!!! Black and white '10 with my mate who's got a blade with 58 stickers on it so hope catch u there. Lee come down n have brew mate.
I am just waiting on the 5 day forecast tomorrow and I am planning to book on this Friday 7th as the weather looks ok the rest of the week , not sure its my best idea as its my stag do on the saturday getting married on the 20th sep, so i hope i dont have an off.I have been to oulton park the last couple of weeks to watch as I am only 25 mins away which I found helpful .I found the staff there very helpful and had plenty of time to talk to you . I think either renting or buy your own tyres warmers is a must, as you only have 20 mins lap time you don't want to waste time warming tyres up,everyone there seemed to be using them you can rent them for £27.50+ vat which includes paddock stands .I am told most accidents are when riders have not warmed up there tyres , as they just see an open track and want to get full on the throttle something I think I will have to carm my self down on ,but watching it I can see why people get hooked.
Me & my mate started this year, only rode on the road twice since & didn't really enjoy it, road bike is gone now.....
Having done a track day now as a novice ,I will go back on what I said on an earlier post about tyre warmers been a must .I can understand the inters or fast group using them but for me a novice , I didn't need them ,knowing I had to warm my tyres up Before I got on the gas made me take my time and build up to a speed that I was happy with and it only takes a lap on a warm day to get them nice and hot . Plus I was told that tyre warmers on road tyres can damage the tyre.
as ever great pics ( u could have photoshot my beer belly out lol !!!) thanks boys, was nice too see you again
Ha ha , if you want any pics pm me your email address and I'll forward them on to you . Nice to meet you too mate ,
