Im so tempted by something like this. The weather will be great in may...... Have you done a FE Euro track day before? Do you know where the pick up point is?
I've done several Euro Events with FE, always had a great time. The FE yard is at Pulborough, West Sussex, obviously this is a bit of a trek from Scotland but they will also pick up from tracks around the country. The drop off is usually the weekend before the event. Give them a ring and see what they say. FE use there own lorrys and the bikes are packed straight in to the trailers and tied down rather than useing the frame crates some organisers use. This means you can can generally get away with taking a bit more kit, spare tyres, tools etc. but does mean you need to proctect your bike against possible rubbing. A thick blanket or lots of bubble wrap will do the trick. Go for it.
Cheers man. Is it a sessioned event normally? Im just a novice/int. So dont fancy being cut up by all the racers haha No Limits are running a TD at aragon on the 3-5th may, that suits my shift pattern better. But its only a 3 day event.
the FE day is only a 3 day event aswell.Almeria tend to be 4 days for roughly the same price(if not a bit cheaper). FE have started to run chrono days on all euro events now, which basically means you pick your favoured group for the 1st day, then after that each riders times are sorted into the "more" relevant group, stops all the fast group wannbee's,and the ego fueled faster guys that like to look good by going in novice.
As Scooby says they're both 3 day events. I think the No Limits drop off is Bristol but again they do pick up from other places as well. I've not been on a fly away trip with No Limits but did Le Mans with them last year. To be fair they have a better rep than FE, not that I've had any complaints. No Limits I believe will be standard 3 groups just like a UK day. All the FE Euro trips are now chrono days which actually works really well. The main thing about Euro events is how relaxed they are. Completely different to a UK day where everyone is rushing around stressed about noise testing, getting ready in time, is it going to rain etc.
Thanks guys. Yeh having the chrono day style sounds really good. I guess if you improve in relation to others you move up and down if your slower? Getting a pick up point closer to me is a main thing for me. However I might be able to tie it in with a uk track day aswell......... I think I will go for the 3rd to 5th at aragon, Just need to convince my mate to come along aswell.
If you go with NoLimits 3rd & 5th, I don't think they do chrono days, just normal 3 groups. It's something FE have brought in although it's quite common with foreign trackday organisers. They do adjust the groups over the event if your times justify it. I wouldn't worry though, you'll be fine whatever. Did I mention how relaxed it is ? If you end up on the FE event send me a PM and we can meet up.
