I commented on it 848phantom 1 day ago Wtf Was told he got off with a caution.....is this true? thenutterdick (original poster) thenutterdick 8 hours ago I'm afraid so. British justice at its best. The Council stated the video footage was tampered with and didn't show the whole story. The rider was completely defenceless. This excuse of a man walks into her personal space and she had no way to protect herself.
Am I right in understanding that a man has headbutted a woman and damaged her bike and has received just a caution? Has he still got his taxi license? And is there any way of finding out which taxi firm he works for?
Surely if he got a caution that means he's guilty, she should get an insurance claim in for damage to the bike and clothing (plus whiplash). Get a decent solicitor and the local press involved attack on lone female in public place.
She can take out a civil action with that evidence, and a letter to her MP complaining about the lack of action by the Police. Hope she pursues it, that tosser can't be allowed to get away with it.
Yeah I agree if he,s had a caution he has to admit the offence in order to get a caution, armed with that it would be easy for a solicitor to take a civil action for damages.
I'll keep this short. Driver received caution in spite of the fact the victim should have been consulted first (she wasn't) Complaint to Police, they admit they did not follow due process. (in contravention of Home Office Circular 016/2008) Appeal to Chief Constable lodged, awaiting reply. Council panel gave him a warning in spite of being in possession of video evidence. Posted on YouTube. Excellent feedback. Police contact victim and tell her that driver has complained and feels threatened, and tells her to get clip removed (she does) or there will be Police involvement. Any complaints please to Avon and Somerset Police and/or South Gloucestershire Council. Ta.
thats F*$ked up contact the press I say.....victim getting treated like the criminal, im sure they will love that story.
Cheers Phantom. I think this is a long uphill struggle for justice. I have considered the press/t.v (I have contacts with both) and a demo by MAG but I am keeping them as my ace cards. The victim did get a phonecall from the licensing bod at S.Glouc.Council last Friday warning her that there were legal implications about the clip. The phonecall from the Police today ruined her Christmas. Thanks for your kind words.
Firstly merry Xmas! How about if we all write a letter of complaint? I would leave the footage on u tube until police get involved I don't think there is much they can do is there? I'm sure the law states that you can video someone/something as much as you like if on public, well that what they tell people on these police program's when the camera is making sittuations 10 times worse!
if you put a neutral title on it i.e. traffic incident then they cant threaten you with the incitement line. even better send us it and we will post it on our channels I have 144 subscribers and near 700,000 viewers on my channel so thats a big audience
I would have said to Police ' when I have cash in my hand for the damage to my bike and £250 compensation I Will remove clip, so its up to the taxi driver if he wants it removed or not'
