This might seem a bit morbid but I've notice a few of you lads have had some serious offs, what do you do to protect your financial position whilst laid up? I get 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay plus if worst comes to worst my Mrs gets a massive death in service payment. A number of life and accident policies preclude payments if riding a motorcycle, classing it as dangerous like scuba diving and private flying. Despite it being a perfectly legal method of personal transport. I think I have an accident and a life policy which doesn't excluded motorcycle use. You have to make provision for your loved ones.

I'll need to check mine. Good heads up Grrandee. My missus, having spent so long in the financial biz, had me covered up to the gills, which is why I never walk coastal paths with her and I know for a fact after my last little excursion into the scenery that my boss got in on the act too. Being dead will be the only time I'm ever likely to be a productive earner.

I get full pay regardless of if I'm in work or not, my insurance policy will pay the house off and give the equivalent of 5yrs pay to my wife if I die.

I think this thread will get a few people reading the small print? good call mate,as you state. Perhaps some may see It as morbid? But there would be nothing worse than leaving our loved ones in a world of shit just for the sake of dotting a few I's and crossing a few T's.
Perhaps some unbiased Proffesional advice from some of our forum insurance guys may not go a miss. It don't even have to pertain to bikes, we could get wiped doing anything now a days.

A pay out for copod 10% disability from a previous employment screwed up critical illness cover on my mortgage life insurance and non disclosure invalidates. Medical record searches after the fact can lead to massive losses. If I die on public transport on a bank holiday I can pay off the debt of a small country.

I have life insurance if I die, so the family#s ok, and as for work unless I was brain dead I would be in work, have work brought to me as I work in a family business.

Full pay for six months then half pay the other six, if I die in service the wife will get about £90k. Accidental death policy of about £60k mortgage would be paid off too so all should be well if I snuff it:)
