Looking to buy first 'Blade - '08 or later model

    A couple of guys in bristol are selling 08 & 09 plate blades with reasonable mileage for that sort of cash and bit less if any good to you?

    Currently got a Street Triple R - once had a 955i Daytona - a bit of a Triumph fan you could say... ;)

    Wanted to try a modern sports bike before I get any older and the Honda seemed slightly less insane than the other options - my heart was with the Aprilia RSV-4 but my legs and wrists said No!

    the blade is very capable and I'm glad I went from my Speed triple to the blade, I have done trackdays, touring and fast road and great fun with all of it

    Hi mate,
    I have had 5 Firebades ranging from the 954 throught to the 2011 HRC I have now.
    I love the FireBlade, as you can tell, and I did have an 08 Brogan Rep at one time.
    Don't dismiss earlier blades, I thought the 954 Blade was the best ever and I still regret selling it. There are a few low mileage ones about at the moment and I am really tempted to have one as a second bike.

    welcome aboard, I wouldnt dismiss the blade as being less insane
    as it produces near the exact same power as the gixer.just the
    stock map is slightly de-tuned low down.stick a power commander
    on one and it becomes a very wheelie happy bike.

    More schizophrenic a beast, really. Behaves itself when it needs to, especially when your balls are bigger than your brain mid corner, then, when the monkey in the trick Supra thinks he's about to teach you a lesson, shazaam!

    Welcome and good choice in the Blade, i went for a 954 for my first blade, not had it that long.... fitted an Ohlins rear shock and had it all set up, a full serivce and few other tasteful mods and its addictive, mine is the RR2 with 6k on the clock and looks and feels like a 600 ! Good luck with the search and let us know what you get.

    Well, so much for the '08 or later bit!

    Various comments about 07 models got me thinking and so I started to check out the 06/07 version and stumbled across a very good deal with a private buyer not too far away. Rang yesterday, visited today and offer accepted!

    It's an 06 14k 3 owners, FSH and looks very tidy in Red/Black. Hope to pick it up next week! :D
