Hello, Happy new year to all!, I've finally made the decision. Yesterday I upgraded from my first bike (Suzuki GSXR600 K2) to an RR8. I can only say Wow! I chopped the Gixxer in put £3200 on top and hey presto. The price reflected that there is some damage. The engine casing is scuffed (reasonably hefty) and bar ends ground down quite heavily. The fairing however is in very good nick, I can't see how the above damage could have occurred without incurring damage to the fairing. I suspect a replacement. There is no crash protection on the bike as yet. That said I was looking for a mod project and I feel I've landed a bargain. I'm going to start with putting the damage right and a general tidy up/polish. I'm not going to jump straight on to the power as I've just had a fifty BHP gain so I think that's enough to be going on with for now. I'm quite concious of getting bitten! DPM Race tail tidy ordered. Indicators and crash protecion next. Looking forward to picking a few brains on a cracking forum. Tug.
More than 50 bhp mate, it's nearly 80.…. Don't worry, the Blade's a pussycat… until you reach the heirarchy of the rev range! Congrats dude….pics please?????? it's the torque you're going to love coming from a 600…. marvellous it is….marvellous.

Welcome Tug, like you I came from an identical bike, my old k1 gsxr600.Yes the difference in power especially the torque is simply breath taking.Much easier to ride fast too than a k1.Having done 6k miles on it I'm well pleased with it
