Anyone know if there are any changes in the back shock from 04 to 07? or will a newer 08 onwards shock fit my 2004 bike.? I dont know which way to go, but seeinga s money is tight, I think if someone has a standard shock that I will get overhauled( or better still a low mileage standard that is in good nick) and resprung for my weight that would be good, alternatively a secondhand , Nitron/ Maxton or even Hagon. Just thought I'd see if anyone on here has one before buying off e bay. Thanks.
I sold one on eBay in good condition about 2 months ago, it only went for about 20 quid so worth checking there. I think 04-07 is the same
the later shock is a totally different fitment at the bottom 08 04-07 try and find a second hand aftermarket shock for an 04-07 is rare. one thing is worth doing is a shock linkage from a 06-07 blade, it's the same as a hrc kit part from an 04-05 race bike.
Thanks for the input and will definitely look into the upgraded linkage. Looks like I will go down the road of picking up a std shock wihich is cheap as you say Martin and get it overhauled and resprung to suit me.
I'll have my standard shock for sale shortly when I get round to fitting my maxton shock, I was thinking I was going to be getting a bit more than £20 for it tho!!
Oops, forgot about this thread, thanks for the offer lcr and cheers for that Martin. Picked up an 07 shock and linkage at a good price on e bay last week, should be here monday/tuesday.
