Having just put the finishing touches to organising my annual “Winter Warmer” dinner. It’s a dinner I have every year for our clients in London, it’s a relaxed evening, great food, plenty of wine in good company just to cheer everyone up during the cold and dark month of February.
This got me thinking, there are quite a few forum members that either live or work in town and perhaps it would be nice to have a forum ‘Winter Warmer’ of our own. I am not suggesting a private room at The Delaunay. Just a few beers followed by a curry after work one evening during the week.

Any one interested? If so let me know and if it looks like a flyer I will come up with a few options.

When data posted I'll see what I can arrange work wise to have a day in the City - then last train home to Manchester and dead at work the next day!

Well that not a bad start. As Si and Allbade are coming the furthest, what dates can you fella's make? I was originally thinking a probably a Thursday night and meeting in a boozer around CG, Holborn, Leicester Square, some where central between the main Euston, Kings Cross and Waterloo stations. Then a curry either locally or bob up to Brick Lane if we can be arsed.

    I am in!!!

IF we end up in Leicester Square there is an amazing Chinese restaurant called Wong Kei that serves GREAT food at very reasonable prices!!!

But I am cool with curry too!!!

This looks like its shaping up quite nicely:

    Lambeth Longshanks
    Jimbo Vills
    Dave V
    Abv
    Matrix

    Allblade (maybe)
    Zipster (maybe)
    Alexg56 (maybe)
    Gums (maybe)

I will give it another couple of weeks then call it, what’s the consensus, Indian or Chinese ? I am easy either way and if the is only a few of us I wont need to book anywhere in advance. I could suggest meeting in the Nags Head on the corner of Floral Street and James Street WC2, outside Covent Garden tube station turn right first boozer on the left unless someone else has a better idea. It’s a shame Zeepony hasn’t said he wants in as it would be good to toast his Numpty Award win plus his office is only round the corner in Soho, if anyone knows him perhaps you could give him the heads up.

The only thing with 'Wonky's' is they do try to shift punters on a bit sharpish. So if we're sitting around banging on about how good we are/were they may get unimpressed. Cafe de Hong Kong on the Charing X Rd is quite nice. But just a suggestion. I'll go wherever. I'm just dead excited! Want to meet some of the gang! Come on!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work near Holborn so can do most days. Indian in the West End is not the best imho (theater menu crap). There are a few chinese, thai and korean places near here as well..

How about firming up a place date and time for this? Really looking forward to this! When your diary reads sleep/work/eat for weeks at a time you need some enjoyment to look forward to.:)
