Mmmm, yep, that's pretty stunning! Nice can too! Looking forward to seeing my akrapovic in the flesh but I'm not sure it sticks out enough for me, lol!

Noticed any problems with removing the heat shields?

No issues so far, but I did fit some sticky back heat shield after removing the OE heat shield.

You can just see it between the exhaust & tail unit.

If you're worried I do still have some of the sticky back stuff left over & a template?

hi fezza on my blade i got a tinted rear light with intergrated indicators and then i got a tail tidy on to show off as much of my exhaust as i can :D As far as legality, for the MOT its not a failure as of yet but they are trying to enforce the intergrated indicators affect the operation of the rear light and brake light. I look at it as its not, when you look at it realy closely, it doesn't shut off the rear light and brake light. ive had mine on for over a year no troubles with the police, and seeing as im an MOT tester i can write out my own ticket hehe. i got a pic to show ya

hi martin, i would say it should be fine for the mot as you can see your numberplate and providing the numberplate is alluminated. the rear light cluster does it have the indicators built it? if so shouldn't be a problem as the "affecting operation of another lamp" regarding intergrated light clusters arn't inforce yet. Alot of the mot is down to the testers disgression. hope that helps :). i like the way you done your numberplate it realy gives the race look :)

It will have a light on plate soon, I love the look it gives the illusion that the rear is higher, I have a motodynamic integrated light which may be a fail due to what I see as a huge saftey feture, when you hit the brakes the light lets off 3 fast flashes which really wakes you up if your behind! But could be seen as a dodgy conection I suppose

It says select models so will have to look into that, also I think you have to take the light out to do it so may as well put stock one in

When I had my MOT last year the tester did say, "by the letter of the law it should be a fail", but he understands why I'd done it.

yeah i just checked the inspection manual needs to be a "steady red light" and for the regplate should be fine, says nothing about where you placed it, it just says it needs to be at the rear, which it is and readable, which it is. like ray said, most mot testers are quite fair unless something is hanging off and dangerous.

Martin Ive been looking at one of these plate holders on eelbay located in the states. Do you have any issues with your plate grounding out on the hugger or anything else? Also what have you done about indicators? I've been looking at the Motodynamics with sequential indicators, also has a quick flash (wake up) brake light. Only thing I'm concerned about with this is when I ran LED's on my SV 1000 they were more useless than shite in bright sunlight !!! So unsure at the mo. Spring cometh soon so want to get something in place.
Any feedback would be great. Oh by the way what size is your plate?
    Cheers ol' boy.
