    Hi Guys,
I may need a new radiator for my 98 blade and am after some recommendations as to where to go other than the dealer. Also, does anyone know where to get a radiator guard as it seems the usual sources don't list it - maybe due to the age.

    Cheers,
    Gary

I tried Cox as well as R & G for the rad guard but no luck with either.
I did wonder if there was someone who could fabricate a radiator - you know the type that you see on race / endurance bikes (a sort of Forge Motorsport version for bikes).

Someone on another site searched and ended up making their own guard for the 98

I've done a search for every manufacturer I can find and as you say it seems a 98 Blade is just too old for them to bother with.

Being as a Rad guard is not exactly a challenging piece of fabrication in aluminium, I'd try a local fabrication firm and I'm sure they could knock ya one up for less than a mainstream one.

I spent a bit of time searching for one for my 954 with no success. Arthurbikemad had one from an American firm that went back as far as mine. They may well have what you need but i cant remember their name. Drop Arthur a line.

Thanks for the replies it looks like the radiator guard is going to be a DIY job.

With regards to the actual radiator, who fabricates the ones for the BSB bikes etc? I'm curious as to whether the price will be cheaper than a standard one from a Honda dealer.

Speak to GMX radiators, they have made many rads for me in the past and the quality is excellent. They also make radiators for the BSB teams

mikesgrilles.com. Got one last year. Brilliant fit, custom made for the Blade in gold, black or silver and you don't even have to remove the fairing to fit (contrary to advisory instructions). Just used supplied bits of thin wire which can be fed through original rad grilles and twisted to secure.
