Sorry Oggy I must have missed that bit I thought it was new .I had both the 2005 and 2006 R1 and although I liked them both I can't say I was bowled over by them they were very good but like must bikes of the class (can't comment on BMW Or Duke ) they don't pull your arms out of the sockets or pop your eyes out The blade has the edge mainly because its so easy to ride fast and when you hit a corner fast there is a reasonable chance of getting around it and having experienced two early ZX10s I think I am not far off the mark with most of us having only average fast road ability the blade fits right at the top of fast bike good bike and for me that's fine .
I bought the bike from 21st Moto in Swanley, Kent. It was their demo bike. Was speaking to the boss ' Rob Francis ' and he told me they had it painted when it came out the crate. He was saying that this particular bike stirred up loads of interest in the TT scheme that he's considering having a couple more painted to see how they sell alongside the standard Honda colour option. If you live in the SE area and you're looking? He maybe worth a call. He's a top bloke to deal with as well.
I hope that gorgeous colour scheme has Ventura shield on it to protect it mate. It would be a shame to ruin it otherwise. Oh and a massive respect from me. You guys are heroes in the RNLI
Lovely, Lovely and very Lovely, hope you get to like it but if not it is still lovely To be Honest I think we have become very spoiled, all these bike are amazing, even more so when we think about the power to weight ratio etc..., yet we can ride them over such a broad spectrum of normality. Amazing technology and the Blade for me is the master of them all for real road useability. However the earler R1's where and still are amazing pieces of kit, even a 10 year old one.
ditto the rest of the posts! its a real nice col scheme. and hey, it wont detioriate as quick as the yam either...bonus!
Hello mate. I know this'll be painful for one or two people , but I plan to use it for my everyday bike. So you might see it about a bit. Whereabouts do you live in Falmouth?
I plan to use it as my daily ride mate, so I'll be popping up to my local vehicle sign writer and see what they can come up with. They do a lot of vehicle wraps, so they should be able to do something. If not, I think I'll buy the pre cut venture shield kit and get them to fit it.
well its got to be used. done bugger all with mine but thats down too 2 young kids and both of us working different hours. i,m in penryn oggy. do you go to hayle on a tuesday?
thats one smart bike oggy i admire your honesty comparing the two, have you got any mods planned for the blade?
That looks so nice Oggy, they don't come much better than that. I'm never happy with anything I own. I dream of the next bike and then when you have it and ride it a while start to look for the next. I have had R1's ZX10R's, supermoto's, went retro with a ZX7R as my last bike because I thought that a 1000 was pointless for the road in this country, ended up selling last year (reluctantly) to buy a sit up & beg muscle bike but ended up with the Blade?! Happy for now but who knows a K5 Gixxer next, they are still one of the best bikes around still. I know what your saying about Blades, they do everything well, perhaps that is why they got the label as boring some years ago, having the 05 ZX10R was the maddest bike ive had. When you did 170 mph you knew you were doing it, when you were cornering hard you knew you were on the limit.. a complete nutters bike! Still I like the Blade and it will do me for now. I'm not a lover of a paticular make, I love all bikes & models.
