Hi, I came across a 2010 blade last night just surfing in general as you do and am curious as to the dealers asking price of £7750. It's a one owner bike with very low miles - only 300 so it looks like it has just sat in the garage for 3 years. Is the price good and more importantly what would you need to do to make sure it was tip top? I imagine it hasn't had any services at all with that mileage. Cheers, Gary
It would just need its first service in a few hundred miles and that's all - price is fair for an almost new bike - but used 2012 bikes can be had (although mileage will be higher) for not that much more - 8,250+ if you look hard enough
True, Brand New non ABS Blades are going for well under 10K now with 3 years 0% finance. It just doesn't make sense to pay nigh on 8K for a S/H 2010 bike (yes it's mint and done no miles) when you can have a new 2012 with a 2 year Manuf warranty for £3.5 K deposit and the rest on 0% for £2K more
This for starters, though prices have started edging up now spring is round the corner, but still under 10K HONDA CBR 1000 cc 1000RR FIREBLADE 2012 This is a new 2011 ABS model with full warranty and 0% at under £9.5K Honda CBR 1000 cc CBR1000RAB Nother one! HONDA CBR 999 cc Plenty about! It's the 3-4 years 0% and a full 2 year warranty that sways it over a low mileage used model.
I think you must mean tilstons. they are quite close from me and thats where the previous owner of my blade bought it, they are a proper honda dealer so dont worry about any funny stuff. might be worth asking if it was owned by honda uk as i also looked at it and thought maybe it had been used as a show bike or something, but as they say its in very good condition just noticed you are also in the north east so they cant be too far from you
I would also give Hunts in Manchester a call - UK's biggest Blade supplier last year and will deliver - They have a mint TT Legends replica 2012 one for sale but that is not discounted...
Too exensive Another 500 and you can have my 12 with only 400 mile on it And a choice of red and white or a black body kit
True. Motoden (Kingsland Road in London) had a non-abs 2012 blade that they were flogging for £10k (Before any negotiating). Brand new, just sitting around on the showroom floor. 0% available on it. H
Echo what Fez said. I can see the bike you're talking about on Tillstons' website. They're about 5 minutes drive from my house so I have had dealings with them before. They're a pucka dealer with all the facilities. They've always been very helpful when I've been in there. Like giving me bolts / washers etc without charging me. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a bike from them with one caveat.....they are notoriously expensive but then again they don't sell any crap. If you buy a bike from them you can be sure that it's a good example but you'll have to pay for the privilege.
Good buy that if ya aint bothered about it having been thrashed from 0 miles! Ex Demos are fine with most cars as the Salesman is mostly sat next to you, so therefore peeps tend to just cruise about and make cooing noises. Bike test rides are done in complete privacy so potential customers will nail the Bike on a test rie no matter what the mileage.
Hi fez.57, yeah it is Tilstons but I have never really got on with the sales guys there having tried a number of times to get a test ride (if I was lucky I think I was once offered a 10 minute round the block type of ride on a used bike) never mind do a deal on a blade. That's why I bought my blade from Whites in Darlington - a good price all round (including the part-ex) and decent sales & service too. I have had test rides of up to a full day if I wanted from dealers who were trying to make sure you got the right impression and weren't just buying on a whim - last year I took a blade out from John Banks and there was no pressure for a sale afterwards. I would have no hesitation to go back there if I was definitely looking for another bike. My impression with Tilstons is that they always want top dollar and if you're not buying a bike regularly you won't get them going the extra mile to gain your business.
I only paid £10300 for my ABS brand spanking new in Oct 2012 and got interest free as well in Suffolk and still haven seen many cheaper even now.
Sinewave I'm the ideal test pilot then as I treat my bike very gently - maybe a lot of people do rag the nuts off something which is not theirs but I have a mechanical sympathy for things and always let the engine etc. warm up properly and don't feel the need to use all the rev range so I guess whoever buys a bike from me is getting something which is barely run in
I haven't seen ANY cheaper... And I've been looking... Motoden had a 2012 (No ABS) for £10k. All the ABS I've seen are £12k. I got a great deal from Hatfields for just under £12k including heated grips, tracker, R&G's, and swingarm bobbins. (I forgot the scottoiler... I'll just have to remember to oil the damn thing). One of the last 4 Black 2012 ABS in the country... Arrives early this week... Mmm.... H
My 62 plate Hrc new 0 miles i picked my box it was in ha ha was £10300 with r&g crash bungs ,rear cowl and r&g tail tidy also haggled 1st service free and gave me £4800 for my 2006 blade . This was end of September last year so there are some good deals about just stick to your guns
Was it a 2012 model though with the full digital dash etc? A lot of these current deals are older bikes 2010/2011 but now on a 13 plate. I paid £10,500 for a 2012 ABS model and have yet to see a cheaper deal on a 2012 model. They still have some in stock if anyone's interested?
