Just wondering if anyone else has any issues with paint coming off repsol orange wheels while cleaning? The cloth is covered in paint and don't think its gonna be too long before its completely gone! Doesn't seem to matter what I use, any suggestions? Don't fancy having to get them off and re painted, there might be a sunny spell any day now!!
    Cheers, Griffo.

Take the bike back. Is a known issue with repsol bikes. Paint has gone through a major revolution and orange colours seem to suffer from poor quality.

I use huggies pure wipes on mine with no issues, also use halfords degreaser if little trouble (it's foam stuff)

Griffo - use some Poorboys wheel wax on them. That way you don't have to polish then so often as the brake dust etc doesn't stick so well. I'm stupid about the amount of polishing the bike gets and I haven't managed to wear through the paint yet. Try not to use solvents to remove chain throw and steer clear of abrasive polishes.

I posted just the same question when my Repsol was new, however it only happened on the first clean and is ok now.

    My wheels are silver now:eek:

    Only joking;)

    Used to happen

On both my 07 and 09 Repsols. I used to keep them in clinically clean condition, basically I never used to lube the chain and when I polished the wheel after cleaning I used Auto glym instant showroom shine but only sprayed a little bit on and never applied too much pressure.

Pretty common problem then eh! Thanks for the advice, think I'll try the wax route. The paint seems really soft almost like its not quite dry. Think protecting it with the was is the way.
    Cheers

Is this a factory bike or a dream machine paint job?
