    Yes, I have a 30 and 2 x 10's

    Picture shows a 10 on top of a 30.

Yes the straps are all round the sub frame but they still have to weave up and sideways under the edge of the seat before they see daylight and as the rear seat rocks a bit then this also prevents the straps being too tight as they then try to bend the edges of the seat up and thus put even more strain and stress on the seat fixing points.

I did notice this on the 10 last year, but I just had it straped around the seat without the subframe. I don't use the seat at all other than when there's a US on the back, so was planning on either trimming the seat down both sides or putting slits in it for the straps from the subframe to go through.

Sorry Si, haven't yet put the straps around the subframe, but can't imagine it will be an issue once the tails off?

Hopefully, i ill have sorted the secure fixings of the straps once Megawatt has made my brackets that bolt on the subframe.

Davev, i was going to thread them through when the tail was off, but the tolerences are that tight, a bulge appears in the plastics, and my new tail fits very tightly, so it's a no no. The only way to securely fit the straps is to have 2 brackets made that bolt onto the rear subframe underneath the rear seat where the original oem undercarriage was, and how it bolted to the subframe.

Picture 1 shows how it looks with no luggage attached.

Picture 2 shows a close up of the straps wrapped around the subframe, you have to make sure that the buckle is no closer to the seat edge otherwise it won't fit back on.
The strap hoops could do with being longer I spose?

Picture 3 shows how the straps want to be when the luggage is tightened up with the seat in place so you can see why they try and curl the edge of the seat upwards at their exit points and why it makes the seat rock a bit on it's locating tab and locking point.

Cheers. Although the Kriega has a bit of movement on the seat, the way you have fitted the straps is very secure...trust me, they will be going nowhere mate. I can't fix mine like yours, as my undertray comes right up into the rear seat area and covers the whole of the subframe, and some of the rear subframe is outside of the tail tidy for bolting the number plate assembly on.
The price you pay for aesthetics dude....

In that case Si, you need a Fein Multimaster!

I use one in my line of work and it's ace for detailed 'plunge' cutting in to wood, metal and plastics!

When I use my 20 I attach it using the seat

and there are little cut outs where the straps then come out

& then I attach the straps to the 20& then the 10 hooks on top of the 20

I take it no ones had problems hoping on and off the bike as you'd never swing ya leg over that lot?

Mine was on the paddock stand when I did my trial fit so not actually mounted the bike yet with the gear on!

Has anyone ever forgot about the luggage after a long ride and swung their right leg off the bike, twatted the luggage and ended up with the bike on top of them!

Getting on & off the bike is a little awkward with the bags on but you do get used to it

It does depend how limber and tall you are though, Sine!

My set up behind is the us40 combo which is a lower profile than stacking. If I wanted to carry more I'd go for the us20 in the middle with a 20 clamped on either side. A more streamlined load and allowing full use of the length of the lovely seat. I find the length of the Fireblade seat is a serious bonus when it comes to long-distance comfort and impinging on it by mounting the 30 lengthways would irk me.

Yeah, sorry Si you did mention in an earlier post that wouldn't work with your new tail.

Yes, see what ya mean Lambeth.

I'll have to load her up with all the Towels outa the Airing Cupboard and go for a Raz.

I seem to remember you're taller than me (I'm 6' dead) so maybe you need the extra rear room on the seat because you have more 'length' than me!

    Story of my life!

I'm around 6ft2 or 6ft3, Sine, so not much in it. But I fidget a bit on a long run.

I do love the 30. As a tankbag or mounted sideways behind. Good kit.
