Acko, did it use loads of fuel to get to Brno? Does you mate enjoy riding it , I had a stint on a BMW s1k and it felt dull after R1
Mines got a pc5 , de-cat, k&n filter and akra end cans normal gearing (47&17) and I normally get to around 100miles before the fuel light comes on that's town & motorway riding , long distance on motorways at a steady speed and its a bout 110-120 before the fuel light comes on, think the bike has a 17 or 18 litre tank& your all right about thous standard cans , I mean what were yamaha thinking ( or not as it seems) with them!!!
I used to have an old-scool R1 and really loved it's feisty nature. Might go test ride one this summer... Not a fan of the front, but as they say, you don't look at the mantlepiece when you're stoking the fire The seat looks maaaaasive, but have seen some cool looking tailpipes for it (Toce)
My buddy loves his R1, painted in Virgin livery. He was putting in an extra 3 lts when we filled up. We nailed it through Germany at an average 140-150. The k was returning about 45-48mpg on the trip, the Ri would pass anything bar a petrol station!
Those pipes do look awesome. I looked at an R1 a while back but found them a bit too small for me. Headlights are meant to be like turning the sun on from what I've been told which I wouldn't say no to
