    -earlscourt
    -kingscross / Finsbury park area
    -clapham / balham

You'll end of with nothing much more than a pokey little flat for that money in London - very much doubt you'd have anywhere safe to keep the bike either! And as said previously, a couple of rough areas you've put down there. Have you considered looking a little further out? I'm just outside Potters Bar myself and can get into Central in about 40 minutes. Plus I have a garage, back garden and a low crime rate to boot!!

I take it you're buying and your budget is £550-£800k, shipmate.

What sort of property are you after? Flat? House? with garden, garage?

I haven't experience of those places but would suggest you look at Dollis Hill, Herne Hill and Streatham and possibly Kennington and Waterloo.

It'll be a 'Hot Bed' in a Squat if so! :p

I live In Iver. West of london, 5mins from M4, 10 from M25.
I can get to Earls court in 35 Mins. 800K would buy you a big house, with quite a lot of land, obviously with garage, maybe a pool if that floats your boat. Cos its out of London Insurance for the blade isn't too bad.

Thanks for all the replies but I think I didn't make myself clear....my bad

I meant £550-£800 a month for a house share!! ie just a room in a house. I can't afford to buy (even though I'd love too!)

Currently my blade isn't in London with me but considering bringing her ... Maybe 6months down the line as my job such offers a subsidy for commuting.

Found some new places to look at more west: Kensington, Shepherd's bush ? Hammersmith?

have you considered just on the outskirts... maybe sutton, epsom, purley, wallington etc.. just 15 minutes by train into london bridge and a one bed flat can be rented for around £750 a month,, has to be better than a room in a house
far nicer than balham, kennington etc shit holes
