    Hey guys

Just to warn you a lot of my friends were stopped by the police over the weekend in the Cambs area. The police have started a major clamp down on bikers. They have road blocks and also loads of mobile units on popular biking roads stopping every single bike that comes by finding anything they can to endorse them for!!!

My friends each got 60quid fines for small number plates and other areas are-

Exhausts - apparently it is their discretion as to if you are too loud......
    Tinted visors - instant endorsement
    Displaying tax discs
Incorrect font size or type on number plates
Tyre wear - minimum tread depths

Basically the copper said they are literally trying to get most of us off the roads?!?!

I came along a road where they were doing stops further down and just spun around and headed in the opposite direction again. I'm pretty sure that isn't illegal and I'm not going to make their lives any easier if they are going to persecute us, so I'll talk to you mister copper if and when you manage to stop me and until then good luck as I'm avoiding you all actively.

I can't help but wonder how does almost all of the items on the checklist help in the safety of others road users?
To me the only safety critical item listed is the tyres!

Everything else is pretty menial, I have never seen any 4 wheeled vehicles being stopped and fined for wearing sun glasses and how does showing a tax disk on the bike help in anybody's safety in any such manner?

Exhausts even factory fitted units vary so so much in there noise level and tone notes, so depending on the bike even standard equipment could end up getting ticketed by certain officers.

It makes me sick the fact that the police have monthly targets at all, I have never ever heard of there being targets for burglaries! Oh wait hold on they can't fine the burglars!

In my eyes these so called initiatives are all about drawing in money and nothing else!!!

Nothing against the police in general so don't get me wrong but let's keep the stops to safety related items.

Agreed I'm just frustrated that their efforts are prioritized at far more menial issues than serious crime. I think we have the worst police force apart from America for their attitude towards us....

They'll happily stop me and give me stupid fines but they wouldn't even investigate the stealing of my bike, didn't even review the CCTV footage of the car park and streets surrounding. I asked why and they said they were too busy with more serious crimes.... like the size of your number plate??

make crime statistic look good though..... crime committed , crime solve, offender prosecuted.......

house broke into.... no one caught, no one prosecuted.... unsolved crime......

down here theyve got an r6 they ride around on with very small police decals, copper all in black leathers white lid with a small police badge on it
how does blending in with us and hiding among the pack just waiting to do you count as safety?
surely if the bike was bright pink with tosser wrote down the side we would all notice it and slow down.
Is it true that the road traffic police are now paid by H M R C ;)

Cant believe they have started all ready, they often have road checks on the parkways around Peterborough and on the roads towards skeggy.

Well I just fitted the Yoshi and decided to go for a quick ride with my brother and as soon as we left my estate the police pulled him over! I thought about it for a moment then carried on and headed home the back way.

    Number plates again.....

Gulp..... That's me then. My tyres are ok, but assuming fines are £60 a pop I am looking at a £240 hit as they could do me for 4/5 on your list. Just as it looks like the sun might just come out to play at the weekend. Terrific.

    Not really true.
A copper cannot ignore a real crime. I know a copper (off duty) that cautioned a parent at a kids football match. They are never off duty and they are mad. They also generally stick to their own kind too.

I don't really get the tiny number plate thing - what do you expect? You know it is illegal - what do you expect a pat on the back?
Noisy exhaust, Although I may like the sound of them I am sure most of the population don't. Many a time hear people bombing around with an incredibly noisy zorst on and think you numpty. Why? OOOOooh you get an extra 1.5bhp at 12000 rpm do you? NOT FOR ROAD USE or in some cases not even for track use

My dual standards are with the visor thing, but, if I get booked I get booked. I didn't know it was endorsable though. I may have to buy one of those light tint joke visors then.
