A good thread I seen. Whats your favorite 3 things about biking Mine: Being out on the bike on a lovely day Filtering past miles of traffic the SPEED
Adrenalin rush from the speed & accelaration Versatility & independance on the road (ie, not stuck in a 4 wheeled box) Looking in Shop windows as I go past and saying 'Fcuk yeah'
1. Not being able to hear the missus 2. Not being able to see the missus 3. Not being around the missus God I love biking!
1 the adventures of touring : escape from reality doing what YOU want to do, scenery, epic roads, bucket list destinations. 2 track days. 3 crack with the lads
1/ Anonymous... You neither Man or Woman,Black or white... just a biker.. It levels the playing field, which i like. 2/I get to strut around in leathers... looking good even though i say it myself.. 3/Filtering through long ques of traffic... that never gets boring...nope..
1/. You can forget work as you need all of your brain for 100% concentration 2/. You have forget work 3/. What’s work? Nah I don’t remember.
1 - That moment when the traffic clears and the ar$ehole who has been stuck up your exhaust disappears in the mirrors. 2 - Getting Mr Numpty in his rep mobile to follow you through the SPECs camera zone at 10mph over the limit because he is concentrating so hard on getting close to you that he doesn't realise that the cameras are front facing and you don't have a plate on the front. 3 - The solitude of riding. Just you and your bike, even when out in a group you are still alone.
Speed - the acceleration mainly. Being out in the open ie not boxed in. The feeling of man and machine combining like one unit.
1. Spending five days a year with my mates crossing Europe at speed 2.Having that first beer in leathers when you get to your overnight stop 3.Seeing the envy on the faces of cage bound blokes on the ferry thinking of pulling their wheeled shed for a fortnight with the missus and 2.2 children trapped in a 10sq ft box all day and a 20 sq ft box all night, playing eye spy for 17hrs continuously, living off beans on toast and burnt/undercooked barbecue sausages.
1. Corners. 2. Listening to lads who don't ride trying to tell you that "you'll kill yourself" or "give me a car any day of the week"...because they don't want to admit that they don't have the skill, balls or money to get themselves a bike despite the fact that you can tell that they want one. 3. Sitting on my back step in the sun at the end of a fast ride with a can of lager listening to my bike tick itself cool.
1. Not being in a car and by that I mean being surrounded by the scenery rather than enclosed in a bubble (Note, not being in the scenery as that is inevitably a painful and expensive endeavour) and also being able to do things cars can't such as filtering/quick overtakes. 2. getting a set of curves right 3. the camaraderie which comes from shared pleasure/pain.
1. Riding past miles of traffic with a smile inside my helmet 2. The isolation of your thoughts to one purpose only - riding - it's like meditation to me. 3. The satisfaction of improving my skills on the road and on track.
