Taking money out of the equation if you was buying a new lid what would you choose out of the arai rx-7, shoei xr1100 or the x-spirit 2 I need to upgrade my lid its 5 years old now but can't decide between the 3. What would you lot do?
If money was no object I would spend my lunch break in the helmet shop for three days wearing each lid for at least 30 mins to see which fitted best.
If go for the arai only because they fit my head better than shoei, get what fits best for you! Fit is probably the most important thing!
yep exactly, find the designs you like from all 3 then go try them on. I went for the RX7-GP, great lid and very cool for the Hot weather, maybe a touch cold in the snowy stuff tho, lol
It would be the Shoei GT air for me mate. I've hade the x-spirit 2, and I have the XR1100 at the moment. I tried on the GT air and it really is on the next level. It's on my to buy list.
I bought the Shoei X-Spirit 2 on the right as it's a £600 lid in any other paint job. Shoei X-Spirit 2 Clearance - Amazing Prices at Helmet City!
My thoughts exactly! Snap em up whilst ya can. If I was in the market right now (and the above was not available) I'd be buying the Shoei GT Air in a heartbeat!
Yep, another Shoei X-Spirit 2 convert here. Always had Arais, but found that the Shoei fits me better. Nothing at all wrong with Arais, but the overall Shoei fit suits me better.
Top lid in my opinion......but it has to be about fit and although i always loved my Arai RX7 gp this HJC is far better fit for my bonce !
Things to consider: Fit: Almost all helmets will loosen up in time so go for tight, just this side of uncomfortable. Get a hat with a quick-release strap and not those double 'D' fiddly things. If you're riding a bike with low bars/leaning forward position (a 'blade!) try and find a helmet that's not too deep in the nape area. It won't bother you in the summer but if you ride thru the winter with scarf/thick collar you'll be fighting to keep yor head up. Also make sure a new hat has a wide field of view. Again, leaning forward, you don't want to be straining your head around at 'awkward' junctions to see if yor 'good to go'. A paint job looks nice but in the interests of safety consider white or even HI/VIZ (I know, I know.) And finally; if you wear shades or 'specs' make sure you can get 'em on and off without straining the frames.
Shoei GT Air for me Stunning helmet On my list that i always think is coming to the end and never does
