The sat nav was £414 & once this is on the bike the only way to take it off is to take all the wiring out too, not the best design but ill just have to live with it. All I gotta do 2moro is connect the terminals up to the battery.
Ok peeps took the bike out today to try the satnav out. So after a 50mile round trip I've gotta say satnav worked a treat. I've wired it up so the headphone & mic jack come out in between the front seat & tank on the right hand side And on the left had side I've got the iPhone /iPad or iPod connecter The on/off switch for this is located under the rear seat And this cable connects to the bike and allows you to power your iPhone ,iPad or iPod
Nice work! I did similar to what you've done but on the Blade it's possible to run the wire down from the underseat area and out to the same part of the frame you're showing but at the bottom, then tuck it under the tank cover to underneath the bars where the headstock is. Keeps it neat and out of the way and it doesn't get pinched between the seat and the tank.
With the cable that comes with the garmin satnav all the cables come as one till you get to a certian point and there is not enough cable to run it back to the headstock if thats what you wanted to do but as I have my headphone cable come out in the gap between were your jacket zips up to the trousers on a two piece suit it made it easier to have it this way( if I get a Bluetooth head kit ill have to hide the headphone&mic jack as it can't be taken off) as my iPhones in me pocket i can also run cable to that as well . This is the reason I wired up the iPhone charger too as its just easier , if I was using my iPhone as my satnav then yes I would have done what you said moily there is plenty of cable with that to let you do it, I've just cable tied the rest of it and put it under my seat.
Thought I'd give the satnav a proper go today so I left home around 1140ish and went from sl13 to cm26 in Chelmsford . Satnav took me m4,m25 and then A road's pretty boring route but I got to my destination in just over an hour with out getting lost. This is the route I took So on the way back I thought I'd avoid the motorway and really see how good the satnav really is( or isn't . So put in my home address and this is the route I took home. Now I am totally clueless when it comes to getting through London and not in a million years would I have done this without the satnav. It took me nearly 2hours to get through London but I didn't get lost once satnav worked just like its meant to ,only issue I had was that the M4 had been closed at Jct1 so shit loads of traffic on the A4.
No mate,Adrian told me he was going to be out ,but thought I'd still head up that way as I've never been that way before & I thought it'd b a good test for the nav
Fitted my Ultimate Addons iPhone mount today. Ran a 2m charger from lighter socket in tail, under tank to the yolk. Case comes with lanyard to wear phone around neck, but used it as a backup, just in case..
