After the success and useful post about 2013 trackdays I thought I'd start one for those 'big ticket' trips - also as I found that myself and Si unknown to each other will both be a the N'ring at the end of May as we start our respective trips. Don't need full day by day details but could be handy. Finally sorted out my Euro roadtrip, which will be down to Mugello for the MotoGP although exact route and stopovers are still to be finalised: Sat 25th May - dep London for Portsmouth, ferry across to Cherbourg, short hop down the coast for first night 26th - La Rochelle 27th - SW France somewhere 28th-29th - Riviera (via Millau) 30th - Italy somewhere 31st-2nd June - Florence 3rd - Burgundy 4th - Champagne 5th - Home via Chunnel = approx. 2,400 miles on GMaps so probably be around 2,800 in total. Headless chicken here. Have tankbag and Bagster cover to fit tonight. Now working in city London Friday which is good but less time to sort. Euro pre pay card not arrived yet but think all else done.
Know what you mean. Work is mental but we're not leaving till Sat lunchtime so got the morning to finish packing and loading. Sat is also when the weather makes a turn for the better, thankfully! Don't forget when using the Euro prepay cards at pay-at-pump petrol stations that it authorises ~€120 and then releases what you didn't use 24-48 hours later. Not usually a problem but worth bearing in mind if you need to pay for something before the auth has been cleared!
2 sleeps! But, weather isn't looking too good, highs of 10 degrees in nurburg and 12 degrees in Baden Baden, and wet. Como looks decent at 18 degrees though, Switzerland is cold. A bit different to the minimum of 21 degrees and 38 degrees this time last year!
been watching the weather too mate, go in three weeks, not looking great hoping it'll change for us by then! fingers crossed for you dude...
