Good tyres, also had the power pures and they were good aswell. However I always run metzler racetec K2's with a 55 rear.
Most tyres now seem have pretty pronounced compound section lines going round them, my previous avons's had them as do my current Pirelli's. I never felt anything on the bike with regards to feeling the edges or anything like that and pretty sure you won't either.
Haven't got them yet, my local Protyre(slough) keeps stuffing up the order however got them down to £239 fitted including a fuel voucher worth I think 30 odd squids - bargain!
I was originally quoted £210 the pair fitted to loose wheels. This increased to £230 when I wanted the 55 profile rear!
Got them fitted, done only 50 miles on them so far, very grippy but already have a puncture, I think they are magnetic! http://1000rr.co.uk/lounge/10652.htm#post171264
I am using 55 profile thought about it for a while and tried it out , my bike didn't feel good going in to corners stuck the 55 on and its awesome now. I just thought higher tyre on back would lift the rear and lower the front this it did .tips in great now and has done since the 55 profile however I have always struggled with wear on my front tyre hmmmmm wearing badly on left of tyre all the time to the point of changing front and rear at the same time everytime.. checked suspension all as standard since November last year and still doing it .the guy who had the bike before messed with it .... I am on my second 55 profile now bridgestone bt015's don't last 2 mins doing 1000 miles on a rear :-( pilot road 2's are going on for European trip at end of the month as I doubt I could get a tyre while on the trip , 2500 miles on one bt015 wouldn't be good lol
Looking on the Michelin site they don't recommend the PR3, but do the PP3. Has anyone tried both? I collected a screw in my rear yesterday :-( Have PR3's on my Hornet and like them, but think if the manufacturer don't recommend them maybe I should go PP3?
Two riders in fast group at Brand's the other day on pr3's including Dave V decking out boots and pegs. The Michelin Germany site which Blackdevil started a thread about lists the pr3 for the Fireblade. Interestingly the only ones they approve in a 55 section rear are the Pure, the Power and the Power 2ct. Not the Power 3. Odd.
I was looking on the UK site here: http://moto.michelin.co.uk/tyre-selector Weird different country's list different tyres May just go whatever I can get fitted locally cheapest then. What are people thoughts on front tyres, replace at the same time? Probably got 1000 miles left on the front tyre the bike left the factory with, only done 1900 miles, not to upset about the screw as the rear was on ware indicators.
