I was going to post some stuff about handling, what it means to me and people's varying perceptions of it, but then changed my mind as I reckon most folk on here actually just want to declare a "winner", which of course, is the Fireblade :)

I had a test ride with the Standard S1000RR for about 3 + hours today.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my Blade, but the S1000RR is much better, at least for me.
Handles much better, feels lighter, better riding position and the corner speed is much higher.
Also I talked to a guy who actually owns a HP4 and he said, that the bike is perfect for street riding under any condition,
especially on “superb” bumpy country roads in Britain.
But of course, everything is related to the rider and his abilities.
    Next on my list are:
    - MV Augusta F4RR ( ABS Version )
    - Aprilia RSV4 Factory
    - Kawasaki ZX10R

Just about to deal on a Granite Grey S1000RR tommorow my head says yes my heart says no! Good trade in price offered from particular dealer. Do I do it?

Generate a few quid splitting the parts off my Blade. HM QS, Honda Akrapovic (Sports pack titanium slip on) Black ASV long levers with red adjusters, Gi Pro gear indicator, Repsol cover and seat cowl.

Asking price of Gi Pro gear indicator (assume it's the 'plug n play' flavour) please Rich?

Absolutely. The hp4 looks like a chav with a Halfords expense account has cut loose. The standard in the solid light blue looks class.

You could have bought a pair of Gandhi's sandals for the same money.

    Makes you think, doesn't it?

It's a great piece of kit but regardless of how good it is if it does not fit the budget it won't happen.

I could never buy/trust a bike i didn't like the look of and I often just stand and gawp at my beautiful 'blade. Owned it a couple of months now and just love it. Did a bit of 'hand wringing' over the question of ABS but in the end decided to go with it and extend the warranty, just in case. Did look at an s1000rr and considered a K1300s cos i'm very partial to a bit of shaft-drive but I've heard horror stories about electrics (suspension?) and other stuff on the K so i give it 'neck'. Both the BMs, when 'fully loaded' are just opportunities for stuff to fail and the big 'K' bikes in particular have got a very bad (justified or not) record. 'BMW quality' is over-rated anyway. I know 'cos I've owned a few and my other bike at the moment is an r1100s. I wouldn't buy an s1000rr any older than year 12 even tho the first Blue/white ones looked great, and as a consequence couldn't afford one. I like the concept of the MP4 but fair do's, it's an ugly fooka with lots to go wrong and, as you can see, how a bike looks is important to me.

A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever...

HP4 is a gimmik IMO... If you want an HP S1000RR Build one, active suss... its has a way to go yet!!! My customer has FGRT and TTX36Mk2 on the cards and some MAN size Brembo's..

In the mean time he will have to make do with this.. Had to change his SHIFT ASSIST as his mates 2013 ZX10R with HM Quickshifter was slipping away thanks to the junk BMW shifter!

LE Wheels, PCV, SFM, Custom Map, Akra Evo RACE and more....
