I'm looking for a hugger for my new Fireblade, bloody hell its hard to find one, well an unpainted one, as I'm not sure if i want it to match the red mudguard or paint it black. Anyone know of any decent sites. Your advice is very much welcomed! Jim
Depends if you ride with a Pillion or not! http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/10298.htm
I had a pillion last Sunday, just cranked the spring up as per what the book says and no contact between the box of tricks and the hugger
You have a genuine Honda one I believe Mr H? Like this? Genuine Honda Rear Hugger - Honda CBR1000RR (2012-2013) - Undertails - Bodywork & Undertails - sportbike - Superbike Toy Store - 1.866.999.9823
Yes OP, don't be tempted by anything Powerbronze, utter shyte gear IMHO, and others. Have a read of this, the genuine Honda is the best looking IMHO if you can live with the clearance issues that according to others don't seem to be an issue outside of extreme circumstances. http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/319.htm
No, I've got an R&G one as it was about the only one available as Zero Limits couldn't confirm if the carbon one fitted? and I didn't like the look of the genuine Honda one as it is massive and spoils the look of the back end...and it doesn't need any help in that department as it already looked like its wearing a filled nappy!
I've bought the Genuine Honda one in the end as in my opinion it looks the best anyway. I only held back because of the clearance issues and the fact it's £80 more than the after market ones, but having seen one fitted to a new Non-ABS bike in my local dealer I must say it looks the bollox and I wanted a big one anyway, the small one's do Jack as far as keeping shyte at bay so why bother at all?
I was told, I guess depending on the make that the offset on the rear shock was slightly different on the 2012 onwards (I guess the balanced free flow ion thing), so be wary of a hugger that does 10,11 and 12 etc.. And it seems Ermax are the only ones that do a hugger with a chain guard built in...
