I got a better deal on the Fireblade... The BMW had the advantage that the dealer is literally 300m from my house. While the honda dealer is about 20km away. But Honda dealer is friendly, always willing to talk, help etc. And will offer a deal. WHile the BMW dealer is basically stuck up his own a&^%e and not only is the price fixed, but the finance is 4.6% as well (Versus 0% for the blade). The asymmetric headlight put me off too... Although I still think the BMW is a lovely bike, the 'blade is I feel better in a lot of respects (The sump doesn't corrode away for a start). H
With the changing market place of BMW bike customers this is something that very much lets BMW down, the staff in the dealerships arent used to their new customer base yet. All to corporate.
Started riding in 1990, when I moved in with the first person that didn't have an issue with it....my wife I bought a CG125, handed over the money, was given the keys and then realised I didn't know how to ride a bike
2010, late starter for me 44 years old, wish i started earlier in life. since i started I have had a Suzuki GSX650F, Ducati Multistrada 1200 Tourer, never had it long, didn't like the twin, then onto a BMWK1300s good bike but bloody heavy, finally to the Blade 2013 HRC, which I would say is my favourite out of them all by a country mile. Did consider the BWM 1000RR, but the Blade was more comfortable IMO, although would have liked some traction control, but managing without, although some we scary ones coming out of some bends
Started in 2000 with a peugeot speedflight 50 with a top speed of 35mph had it for a year then done me test and got a brand new Kawasaki zx6r J1 ( in green) had that for 3& a half years then got married and had to sell it then back in June 2010 got an 09 plate R6 which I kept for 7 months & the chopped it in for my current ride which is a 10 plate R1.
Aged 5 motocross raced from 8-13 too many offs and off school so switched to 4 wheels raced from 13-18 raced in America 7 weeks but was costing too much cash and putting a strain on my mom and dad so decided to quit my decision . Brought a zxr400 then 2 gsxr 600s a zx10r a gsxr1000 a zx636 another zx10r a gsxr750 r1 a rr6 now my 12 blade probs missed a few lol
I was only 10yo. Me and some mates bought a 250cc Ariel 'Twin Port' and 'scrambled' it over the 'rough-hills' and public refuse tip at the bottom of our garden in Wolves. Happy daze.
Ever since I was a young boy I was always fascinated about bikes. Mucked around on monkey bikes when at school and dreamed of an RGV 250 when at college, always tried saving money for one but something always cropped up,moving house, baby etc. Got divorced 6 years ago and bought a CBR 600 RR7 and sat my direct access, best thing I've ever done in my life. Have now been happily remarried for 4 years, have another wonderful daughter, and now have a new Blade in my garage, let the good times keep rolling
