same as, i sold my sp1 last year, just chopped in my sp2 for a '13 non abs and im made up with it.
just got it to 600 miles today.

apart from the handling, braking, accel, tractability, smoothness, top end, comfort, styling and everything else, ive also noticed that over the sp2, every 100 miles is saving me £8 :D
at this rate it will pay for itself!

absolutely smashing bikes. dunno why i didnt get one sooner :)

Well I think it looks awesome :) Just procrastinating.... Worried about rushing in again and regretting I didn't get the later bike. But I guess I can always part ex if I decide I 'need' a '12 later. I assume the paint job wouldn't put potential customers off?

Could be but I hope not:

    1. Dream Machine finishes are utter shite

    &

    2. What's it hiding?? If I ever got a custom paintjob done I'd always take detailed photos of the bike before the job in the painters to prove it hasn't been done to hide accident / dropping damage.

I'd steer well clear then. Hate to say it but Dream Machine are shite. I'd be looking very closely for flaking paint, poor lacquer finishes, stone chip damage spreading etc etc

    Why was it sprayed??

I would suggest the usual checks just to make sure its not on finance, stolen or written off. If you like the bike bring a friend along who may not look at the bike through rose tinted glasses and be very thorough make sure you see the registration document, mot and see if there are any advisories. Is the person selling the bike the owner/registered keeper?

Thought I had decided on an 08-11 bike, but think I'm going to stretch to a '12 now. I like my gadgets, so want the dash, and the suspension would be a bonus. An 08/09 + the lovely HM dash would be the same price as a (cheap) '12. Current plan anyway, but today was washed out with 'family' activities. Odd that the ABS models are cheaper than the non-ABS ones at the lower end of the price range (under £9k).

Could be because people are realising that the ABS can have pretty serious issues.

True, but it worked for me this morning when an arse in a black audi tried to change lanes without indicating on the M4...

That's how I feel, the pros of having it far outweigh the cons.

Most peeps have had little or no issues at all with their ABS, where as the consequences of locking the front up in the wet at 70+ on the motorway as above or hitting spilt Diesel or chippings at a junction would all most likely cause an expensive 'off'

    I take it thanks!

Just in case anyone reads this thread looking to make the same decision, another factor is that the insurance for the '12 was about 20% more, which I thought was a bit odd. I found this out after I had bought the bike though!

Newer bikes are worth more, maybe 20% more so only natural the cost to insure is higher than an older / lower value bike
