    Hi all,
I have bought a track fairing for my 11 blade. Do I need to buy the air tubes aswell? are they essential? Can I use my standard ones?
    Cheers,
    Col.

It's worth having good flow into your airbox for the top end with the ram effect. Dyno figures won't show a disadvantage, but on track on the straights you lose out big time. As an example, in the 848 cup at Brands, my mate who i spanner for was 2nd fastest through the first 2 speed traps and sectors, but then on the straight, he was 14mph down on nearly everyone. He has the standard 848 tubes which massively reduce flow over the Ducati Corse carbon tubes, and the top end was just dire compared to everyone elses who had the tubes. His bhp and torque figures were in line with everyone else when ram was not in effect on the dyno though.

I bought a set in the end...they were not a snug fit in the air box :(. I fitted the standard ones and they fit with the faring. I did notice that the ones I bought do not have the diaphragms in...what are these for? I'm guessing some kind of idle air feed?? What would be the effect of running without them? and if I did would I plug the pipes or leave them open?
    Ta,

as the standard one's are built to the firing and would be a pain to remove
