    Evening,

I joined up a couple of weeks ago but haven't had chance to post as I've just got back from the TT! Thought I'd better say hello.

I bought my '09 RR9 (HRC colours) in September last year but because of the crappy weather hadn't had much opportunity to get out on her until fairly recently. Really enjoyed riding across to the Isle of Man, and while I was there. I have a couple of niggles/questions:

It struck me, after riding with mates, that the exhaust note of my bike with the standard can is pretty weedy and I fancy fitting something to give me a fruitier noise. Not after extra performance really, just a throatier sound. Any suggestions please?

Also, I found that when riding around town at slow traffic speeds the throttle seemed very jerky. Admittedly it was during hot weather and the engine was very hot (100+) so I don't know if that was making it worse.

I look forward to reading your words of wisdom.

    Cheers

Hi Boyesey welome to the site mate , I have a 09 blade(Repsol) and I find the throttle a bit snatchy in town but I can live with I and I suppose a PCV would cure it ,but has for the exhaust mines fitted with a Leo Vinci GP PRO and I love the sound of it looks ace too.

Welcome and congrats for choosing the fastest colour scheme ;-)
I run a yoshi on mine and love the sound. Can be a little jerky but nothing to major and as said a power commander would sort

    Hi,
Welcome. I have a Scorpion exhaust, it sounds great ( especially with the baffle out).
I don't seem to get same issue with throttle response in town. I have 2012, maybe it's been sorted?

Thanks for the greetings guys, and the great tips. I'll trawl the net this weekend and see what I can find. Quite fancy Akro pipe but will see what's about, and will investigate power commander.
I'll stick some photos up when I get chance.

    Hi to all

Have just joined this morning. Wonder if anyone can help me. I have a 2009 Repsol (lovely bike!) Had my first track day last month (74mph cross winds + rain, not a great introduction!)
My alarm is playing up so have to look at the battery and fuses but I am having trouble removing one of the side screws that secures the seat. Have managed to remove the plastic side panels OK and one of the screws but the other one just will not budge. The phillips heads really give poor traction and I am worried that I will completely ruin the head trying to get it off. I have given it a few gentle taps and sprayed with WD40. The constant beeping from the alarm is driving me mad!

Has anyone got any ideas on how to remove this screw?

    Thanks
    DadRacer

Place an elastic band flat over the head of the screw, put the screwdriver in (on top of band) and this will tighten the grip in the screw head and it will turn smoothly
Good luck oh and welcome :)

Had the same problem with mine as it must have cross-threaded or jammed in somehow but my ham-fisted attempts at undoing it just ended up rounding the groove out so had to get the garage to drill it out.

Got them to replace the screws with hex screws instead and not had problems since.

    Thanks for your advice.

Finally managed to remove the second screw and have checked all the relevant fuses. They are all fine (thanks to Bruce at Safe'nSound for his helpful and patient guidance). At least the beeping has finally stopped! Next stop will be the dealers to get a drop test on the battery which I suspect is faulty. It is really too small for the job. No wonder Honda have gone back to a normal size battery.
I think I will also get hex screws replacements. They are are lot more durable. Thanks for the advice!
